COMMUNICATIONS CONTROL METHOD, COMMUNICATIONS TERMINAL, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
20180006836 · 2018-01-04 ·

This application discloses a communications control method and a communications terminal, so as to implement a change between a point-to-point chat and a group chat among multiple persons, and a user may set a chat identity of the user by using a character. The communications control method provided in this application includes: controlling, by a communications terminal, a first character to move on a character layer, and displaying, on a communications display interface of the communications terminal, different characters on the character layer with the movement of the first character, the first character being displayed on the communications display interface of the communications terminal, the character layer including: the first character and at least one character other than the first character, and the first character being a user object that represents a user when the user chats using the communications terminal; obtaining, by the communications terminal, chat content entered by the user into the communications terminal; and displaying, by the communications terminal, the chat content on the communications display interface as an identity of the first character.

METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND MEDIA FOR SENDING A MESSAGE ABOUT A NEW VIDEO TO A GROUP OF RELATED USERS
20180006838 · 2018-01-04 ·

Methods, systems, and media for sending a message about a new video to a group of related users are provided. In accordance with some embodiments, the method comprises: determining that a new video associated with a content creator has been uploaded to a video sharing service; identifying a group of candidate users to receive a message indicating that the new video is available; identifying a sub-group of users within the group of candidate users based on relationships of users within the group to each other; determining a time to send the message; transmitting the message to the sub-group of users at the determined time; determining that the message has been selected by a user device associated with a user of the sub-group of users; and causing the new video to be presented in a user interface including a communication interface associated with the sub-group of users on the user device.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SENDING A PUSH CONTENT

A terminal receiving a push message is provided. The terminal sets service control condition which specifies application identifier (app ID) corresponding to service that the terminal is allowed to receive, wherein the service control condition is contained in push message control policy. And the terminal then receives a push message, matching the push message control policy, sent by a server.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR TARGETING COMMUNICATIONS USING SOCIAL NETWORK METRICS
20180013708 · 2018-01-11 ·

A method for a computer system includes receiving a first user communication, determining a first group of users, determining a target number of users, determining whether the first group of users includes the target number of users, and if not, providing the communication to the first group of users, determining a hierarchal mapping of groups of users in response to user memberships, determining a second group of users from the hierarchal mapping, determining a plurality of social network relationship factors for the second group of users with respect to the first user, and providing the communication to at least a subset of users in the second group of users in response to the first plurality of social network relationship factors.

An apparatus, e.g. a wireless media access point, includes a transceiver, a non-transitory storage medium, and a processor operably coupled to the transceiver and the storage medium. The processor is configured by instructions stored on the storage medium to transmit a first multicast channel associated with a first group temporal key (GTK), and to simultaneously transmit a second multicast channel associated with a second GTK.

Node Directed Multicast Traffic Management Systems and Methods for Mesh Networks
20180013573 · 2018-01-11 ·

Systems and related methods include node directed management of multicast traffic within a wireless mesh network. A wireless mesh network may include a plurality of mesh nodes and a central server in communication with at least one of the mesh nodes of the plurality of mesh nodes. The central server may be configured to generate one or more rules for at least one of the mesh nodes to instruct a change in a pre-routing parameter in a packet header based on received channel state information. The central server may include a rules-based engine configured to generate and convey one or more traffic shaping rules in response to sensing traffic conditions. The position of received multicast packets in a packet order may be modified.

Online meeting monitor

A data processing system is implemented for accessing information about a scheduled meeting of a user, the information including a start time and an end time of the scheduled meeting. The data processing system also implements determining a planned meeting time for the scheduled meeting based on the accessed information, receiving an attendance signal which indicates that the user has joined the scheduled meeting, and monitoring the attendance signal to determine an attended amount of time of the user in the scheduled meeting, wherein the attendance signal represents a user device of the user joining the scheduled meeting. Further, the data processing system implements determining an attendance ratio based on the attended amount of time and the planned meeting time for the scheduled meeting, and classifying the user as potentially fatigued based on the attendance ratio satisfying a threshold condition.
