PARTIAL RESPONSE RECEIVER
A signaling system is described. The signaling system comprises a transmit device, a receive device including a partial response receive circuit, and a signaling path coupling the transmit device and the receive device. The receive device observes an equalized signal from the signaling path, and includes circuitry to use feedback from the most recent previously resolved symbol to sample a currently incoming symbol. The transmit device equalizes transmit data to transmit the equalized signal, by applying weighting based on one or more data values not associated with the most recent previously resolved symbol value.

A decoder circuit (10) is connected to the antenna (11) and configured to extract from the electrical signal (110) generated by the antenna (11) data bits encoded in the electrical signal (110). The decoder circuit (10) comprises an analog-to-digital converter (12) connected directly to the antenna (11) and configured to generate a digital input signal (13) from the electrical signal (110) generated by the antenna (11). A bit extractor (14) is connected to the analog-to-digital converter (12) and configured to extract the data bits from the digital input (13) signal generated by the analog-to-digital converter (12).
GENERALIZED FREQUENCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING (GFDM) FRAME STRUCTURE FOR 11AY
In 60 GHz WiGig/IEEE 802.11ad, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is used to achieve higher throughput. However, OFDM has one problem of high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) caused by the summing up of the large number of subcarriers. A high PAPR signal degrades the efficiency of power amplifier (PA) and may cause spurious emissions because of the PA non linearity. In order to reduce PAPR, Generalized Frequency Division Multiplexing (GFDM) which has the characteristics of both single carrier and multi carrier transmission has been studied. By introducing GFDM, the number of subcarriers can be decreased while still maintaining a high throughput.
Dynamic trigger compensation in OFDM systems
Systems and methods for enabling pre-compensation of timing offsets in OFDM receivers without invalidating channel estimates are described. Timing offset estimations may be sent along with the received OFDM symbols for FFT computation and generating a de-rotated signal output. The timing offset estimation may provide a reference point for dynamic tracking of timing for an OFDM signal and estimated based on an integral value associated with the OFDM signal.
MULTIPLE-SYMBOL COMBINATION BASED DECODING FOR GENERAL POLAR CODES
The present disclosure relates to multiple-symbol combination based decoding for general polar codes. Multiple-symbol combination based decoding of a received word that is based on a codeword involves determining whether all nodes at an intermediate stage of the multiple-symbol combination based decoding, which provide their outputs as inputs to a subset of nodes at a next stage of the multi-symbol combination based decoding, are associated with trust symbols in the received word that have a higher reliability of being successfully decoded than doubt symbols in the received word. A hard decision is performed in response to a positive determination.
Receiver and automatic offset cancellation method thereof
The disclosure provides a receiver and an automatic offset cancellation (AOC) method thereof. The receiver includes a receiving channel circuit and an AOC circuit. The receiving channel circuit generates an equalized differential signal including an equalized first-end signal and an equalized second-end signal according to an input differential signal. The AOC circuit detects a peak of the equalized first-end signal to generate a first peak detection result. The AOC circuit detects a peak of the equalized second-end signal to generate a second peak detection result. The AOC circuit compares the first peak detection result with the second peak detection result to generate a comparison result. The AOC circuit compensates a mismatch of an input differential pair in the receiving channel circuit according to the comparison result.

The receiver also includes a plurality of high-pass filters connected to an output of the demodulator. The plurality of high-pass filters are configured to receive the demodulated signal and configured to high-pass filter the demodulated signal. The plurality of high-pass filters are configured to operate with a first set of filter responses during a first time period of the demodulated signal and configured to operate with a second set of filter responses during a second time period of the demodulated signal.
