In some implementations, a computer-implemented method includes receiving gaming content associated with a game associated with a first client locale, the received gaming content including content that is restricted at a second client locale, receiving at least one content alternative, the at least one content alternative being an alternative to replace the received gaming content, generating a first localized rating for the received gaming content and a second localized rating for the at least one content alternative, and automatically providing the received gaming content or the at least one content alternative to a user device associated with the second client locale based on the first localized rating and the second localized rating.
Contextual recommendations in media streaming
A system and method for providing contextual recommendations in gaming media streams. One or more users request a gaming media stream broadcast corresponding to game play. A broadcast service obtains the gaming media stream that includes a gaming stream identifier and user identifier. The broadcast service can generate a set of recommendations based on at least one of social network information, historical information, and identification of events and items in the gaming media stream. The broadcast service provides the gaming media stream with one or more recommended items.

The aggregate playstyle profiles of games participated in a by a user may be used to recommend one or more other games with a similar aggregate playstyle profile. In embodiments, an individual user's playstyle patterns may be used to determine games having similar playstyle profiles to eh user's playstyle patterns. In this way, game recommendations are more tailored to a particular type of gameplay, and not only to particular genres of games or games that are currently the most popular.

Interface-based game-space contest generation
An approach to facilitating interface-based game-space contest generation is provided. A user interface may be provided to an administrator. The user interface may be configured to receive user inputs from the administrator that include one or more performance criteria to be associated with a contest to be provided in a game space, one or more awards to be distributed in association with the contest, and one or more qualifications to participate in the contest. A notification that relates to the contest may be provided, based on the user inputs, in the game space. Performance scores of users that participated in the contest may be determined based on the performance criteria and activities that are performed in the game space by the participating users. Automated distribution of the awards to individual ones of the participating users may be facilitated in accordance with the performance scores of the individual participating users.
