BUFFER CONFIGURATION METHOD AND SWITCHING DEVICE
This application provides a buffer configuration method and a switching device, to ensure no packet loss, and belongs to the field of network technologies. The method includes: sending, by a first switching device, a first measurement frame to a second switching device; receiving, by the first switching device, a second measurement frame sent by the second switching device, where the second measurement frame is generated through triggering based on the first measurement frame; determining, by the first switching device, a buffer configuration parameter based on the first measurement frame and the second measurement frame; and setting, by the first switching device, a local buffer based on the configuration parameter. This application is used to automatically configure a buffer of a switching device, thereby reducing buffer space without packet loss.
RECOMMENDING CONFIGURATION CHANGES IN SOFTWARE-DEFINED NETWORKS USING MACHINE LEARNING
In one embodiment, a device associates application performance of an online application with network configuration changes implemented across one or more software-defined networks. The device trains a machine learning model to predict an effect of a configuration change on the application performance for any given portion of the one or more software-defined networks. The device generates a recommended configuration change for a particular portion of the one or more software-defined networks, using the machine learning model. The device causes the recommended configuration change to be implemented in the particular portion of the one or more software-defined networks.
Virtual systems management
An apparatus and method for automatic configuration management of a network are provided. The apparatus and method may provide a virtualization system that has an inventory that includes physical resources and virtual assets managed by a virtualization layer running on the physical resources; wherein virtual assets are software instantiations of computer systems, receive a virtual asset provisioning request that specifies parameters to be considered for the virtual asset provisioning request and receive data on inventory available in the virtualization system. The apparatus and method may automatically provision a particular virtual asset to a particular physical resource in the virtualization system that matches the parameters in the virtual asset provisioning request, assign the provisioned virtual asset to the virtual asset provisioning request and provide user access to the provisioned virtual asset.
FORMAL VERIFICATION OF NETWORK CHANGES
A network insight system that performs intent verification of network changes is provided. The system generates a first model of a network comprising a first set of one or more rule tables, each rule table described by one or more flow nodes. The system generates a second model of the network comprising a second set of one or more rule tables. Each rule table is described by one or more flow nodes. Each flow node specifies a set of packets and an action to be taken on the specified set of packets. They system determines a set of differential flow nodes for the second model based on the flow nodes of the first model and the flow nodes of the second model. Each differential flow node is classified as being one of (i) newly removed, (ii) newly added, and (iii) unaffected. The system verifies a network change based on the determined differential flow nodes.
METHOD FOR ALLOCATING RESOURCE FOR STORING VISUALIZATION INFORMATION, APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM
A method for allocating a resource for storing visualization information, an apparatus, and a system are provided. The method includes: a first network device determines a first queue based on a constraint condition, where the first queue is a queue that needs to be visualized. Then, the first network device allocates a first storage resource to the first queue, where the first storage resource is used to store visualization information of the first queue, and the visualization information is information used to visualize the first queue. Therefore, occupation of storage resources in the first network device is reduced.
NETWORK EVENT DETECTION AND AUTOMATED REMEDIATION
A method of identification and remediation of a mass event in a managed network. The method includes receiving a first report of an event occurring at a first endpoint of the managed network. In response, a first action is performed. The first action being initiated based on a repeating event trigger not being triggered. The method includes receiving a second report of the event occurring at a second endpoint. In response, the method includes determining whether a threshold that triggers the repeating event trigger is exceeded. The threshold being indicative of a mass event in the managed network. Responsive to the threshold being exceeded, the method includes triggering the repeating event trigger and performing a second automated resolution action in the managed network. The second action being different from the first action. Responsive to the threshold not being exceeded, the method includes performing the first action at the second endpoint.
Interworking of legacy appliances in virtualized networks
A computing apparatus, including: a hardware platform; and an interworking broker function (IBF) hosted on the hardware platform, the IBF including a translation driver (TD) associated with a legacy network appliance lacking native interoperability with an orchestrator, the IBF configured to: receive from the orchestrator a network function provisioning or configuration command for the legacy network appliance; operate the TD to translate the command to a format consumable by the legacy network appliance; and forward the command to the legacy network appliance.
Premises management networking
Methods and systems for managing a premises are disclosed. The premises may comprise a premises system and a gateway in communication with the premises. The gateway may send, to a remote device, premise data received from the premises system.

System and method for commissioning a network element
Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media which have instructions stored for execution on a processor, for automating the commissioning of a transport network element within a network. A system configured according to this disclosure can be an Automated Commissioning Tool which can initiate communications with a network element on the network. The Automated Commissioning Tool can then retrieve updated firmware corresponding to the network element and configure the network element to have the updated firmware. Finally, the Automated Commissioning Tool can determine, from a network plan, a first port on the network element which is to be connected via a cross-connect to a second port on the network element and establish the cross-connect on the network element. At this point the network element may be commissioned to operate as a transport network element within the network.
