Apparatuses, methods, and systems for a Dynamic PHY-Level Collision Avoidance (DPLCA) based Ethernet network are disclosed. The Dynamic PHY-Level Collision Avoidance (DPLCA) Ethernet network includes an Ethernet bus comprising a shared cable, and a plurality of Ethernet nodes connectable to the Ethernet bus. Each of the Ethernet nodes is configured to autonomously select a unique node identifier, including the Ethernet node operating to transmit over the Ethernet bus either a special symbol or packet during a time slot designated for the unique node identifier, monitor any collisions with the transmitted special symbol or packet, and autonomously select the unique node identifier if no collision is detected.

Automated provisioning and configuration for dynamically loaded NFV- and SDN-based networks

A network controller for a mesh network of routers in a communication system. The network controller automatically monitors the mesh network; determines to add one or more new software-based routers to the mesh network; provisions one or more programmable resources to be the one or more new software-based routers in the mesh network; and configures the one or more new software-based router to support one or more new paths through the mesh network. In some implementations, the controller automatically accesses one or more corresponding OEM libraries to retrieve one or more configuration protocols for the one or more programmable resources and uses the one or more retrieved configuration protocols to provision the one or more programmable resources using NFV and SDN technologies and configure the one or more new software-based routers. The controller may also automatically decommission one or more existing software-based routers from the network when appropriate.

A method for configuring a first network node using a first autonomous system (AS) number in at least one session established with another node according to a dynamic routing protocol is described. The method is implemented by the first node and includes receiving a configuration message comprising at least one piece of information that is representative of a second AS number intended to be used by the first node as a replacement for the first number, configuring the first node with the second AS number, identifying at least one second node having at least one session according to the dynamic routing protocol, active with the first node, in which the first node is associated with the first AS number, and sending a control message to the at least one second node requesting the replacement of the first AS number with the second AS number by the at least one second node, such that, after the replacement, the first node is associated with the second AS number in the at least one active session.

AUTOMATED NETWORK CHANGE SYSTEM

Methods, systems, and apparatus, for automatically changing a network system. A method includes receiving a set of first intents that describe a state of a first switch fabric; receiving a set of second intents that describe a state of a second switch fabric; computing a set of network operations to perform on the first switch fabric to achieve the second switch fabric, the set of operations also defining an order in which the operations are to be executed, and the set of operations determined based on the set of first intents, the set of second intents, and migration logic that defines a ruleset for selecting the operations based on the set of first intents and the second intents; and executing the set of network operations according to the order, to apply changes to elements within the first switch fabric to achieve the state of the second switch fabric.

A network configuration method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable storage medium are provided, and belong to the field of communication technologies. The method includes: A first execution device sends a device discovery message to a management device. The device discovery message is a layer 2 packet and includes a first port identifier, where a port identified by the first port identifier is a port, in an up state, of the first execution device (301). The first execution device receives a first configuration message from the management device. The first configuration message is a layer 2 packet and includes a configuration parameter for a second execution device. The configuration parameter includes an internet protocol address of the second execution device, and the second execution device is connected to the port identified by the first port identifier (303). The first execution device sends the first configuration message through the port identified by the first port identifier (302). The execution device and the management device may discover a new device by themselves, deliver a configuration parameter, and complete network configuration on the discovered device, to save a large amount of manpower and improve network configuration efficiency.

PREDICTIVE AUTO-SCALING OF VIRTUALIZED NETWORK FUNCTIONS FOR A NETWORK

Systems, methods, and software for auto-scaling Virtualized Network Functions (VNF) in a network. In one embodiment, an adaptive engine stores initial rules for a set of auto-scaling rules. The adaptive engine monitors behavior of the network operator in scaling a VNF in response to events, and generates learned rules for the set of auto-scaling rules based on the behavior of the network operator. The adaptive engine adjusts a sequence of the initial rules and the learned rules in the set of auto-scaling rules. The adaptive engine predicts a future event in the network that will activate scaling of the VNF, and auto-scales the VNF for the network based on the set of auto-scaling rules before occurrence of the future event.

PROCESSING UNMODIFIED CONFIGURATION DATA WITH A NETWORK DEVICE APPLICATION

A network device may receive a first configuration object associated with an application and may parse the first configuration object to identify first configuration data. The network device may calculate a first hash value based on the first configuration data and may generate a first operational object based on the first configuration data and the first hash value. The network device may receive a second configuration object associated with the application of the network device and may parse the second configuration object to identify second configuration data. The network device may calculate a second hash value based on the second configuration data and may determine whether the first hash value matches the second hash value. The network device may prevent, based on the first hash value matching the second hash value, generation of a second operational object based on the second configuration data and the second hash value.
