Automated scripting for managed devices
Systems and methods are included for providing feature sets to groups of managed user devices within an enterprise mobility management (EMM) system. A feature set can enable a user device to detect one or more triggering events, and in response, automatically perform a specified action. An administrator can request a feature set using an interface provided by a management server. The management server can enroll the user device, install a management agent on the user device, and automatically build and deliver the requested feature set to the user device. After receiving the feature set, the management agent of the user device can monitor for recurring triggering events without further intervention from the management server.
Optimal software load delivery systems and methods to network elements
Systems and methods include obtaining a catalog for a “to” software release and details of a controller of a network element operating a “from” software release, wherein the software releases are associated with the network element, and wherein the controller has a file system associated therewith; determining a delivery technique for a software load of the “to” software release based on the catalog and the details of the controller; and causing delivery of the software load to the file system based on the determined delivery technique, wherein the causing is one of automatic and subsequent to a user command. The delivery technique can be one of i) a full delivery, including all files in the catalog, ii) a minimal delivery, including only files in the catalog needed based on modules present in the network element, and iii) a hybrid delivery, between the full and minimal delivery.
AUTOTUNING A VIRTUAL FIREWALL
A device may receive an input associated with deploying a virtual firewall on a computing device. The device may determine a first set of characteristics associated with the virtual firewall and a second set of characteristics associated with a hypervisor associated with the computing device. The device may automatically tune the virtual firewall based on the first set of characteristics and the second set of characteristics. The device may deploy the virtual firewall after tuning the virtual firewall.
Real time performance tuning of network devices
A network device (ND) includes packet processing circuitry and performance optimization circuitry. The packet processing circuitry is connected to a network and is configured to process communication packets for communicating over the network. The packet processing circuitry includes a plurality of configuration registers for setting one or more operation parameters of the ND. The performance optimization circuitry is configured to improve a performance measure of the ND by iteratively calculating the performance measure and adjusting values of one or more of the configuration registers based on the performance measure.
NETWORK PROTOCOL FOR COMMUINCATION AMONG LIGHTING AND OTHER DEVICES
A protocol for controlling lighting devices within a network enables bidirectional communication between different connected devices, any of which may function as a server, a device, a broker, or multiple of these roles. Upon initialization of the network, a server device requests a basic configuration data file from each device on the network and, thereafter, requests a more extensive configuration data file identifying capabilities and functionalities of the device which the manufacturer has made discoverable. Each device sends its basic configuration file to the server device upon any of power on, reboot, reset, hardware configuration change, or software change to the respective device. A device on the network can also be a collection of sub-devices each of which may be separately identified, and their respective capabilities evaluated, so that the server can separately control either the device or any of the individual sub-devices.
Updating electronic devices using a push model
Automatically updating electronic devices using a push model. A set of electronic devices may be selected for an update. A first plurality of devices of the set of devices for which the update is valid may be determined in accordance with a set of rules, e.g., safety check rules or business rules, where the determining is based on stored configuration information for each of the devices. Current configuration information and accessibility information may be received for each of the first plurality of devices, and based on the received current configuration information and accessibility information and the stored configuration information, a second plurality of devices of the set of devices for which the update is valid may be determined, where the second plurality is a subset of the first plurality. The update may be applied automatically to at least some of the second plurality of devices.
Communication apparatus and control method
A communication apparatus includes a control unit that causes the communication apparatus to operate, based on that a predetermined command is received through a second connection in a first exclusive state in which the communication apparatus does not receive connection information through a first connection or a second exclusive state in which the communication apparatus is not connected to an external device corresponding to the connection information that is received through the first connection.
System and method of data communication
Particular embodiments may receive a request to perform a task to a core network by a user device via an access point. The user device may be authenticated by the core network which comprises one or more network functionality components, and each of the one or more network functionality components may be decomposed into multiple service types. The core network may identify service instances for deployment based on the task. Each of the service instances may belong to one of the multiple decomposed service types. The service instances may be deployed to one or more server machines to accomplish the task by the core network based on resource requirements of the service instances and current resource availability of the one or more server machines.
Method and system for secure zero touch device provisioning
A customer premises device may include a memory configured to store day 0 configuration instructions, a first network interface to couple to an out-of-band network, a second network interface operatively coupled to a customer network, and at least one processor configured to automatically and without user input execute the day 0 configuration instructions. The at least one processor is configured to establish and maintain a secure tunnel connection with a security gateway device via the out-of-band network and to establish a connection with a configuration platform on the provider network via the secure tunnel connection. Orchestration instructions for configuring one or more VNFs are received from the configuration platform via the tunnel connection. The at least one processor is further configured to receive VNF management instructions via the secure tunnel connection, wherein the VNF management instructions include one of: updates, reconfigurations, or patches.
ARCHITECTURE FEATURES FOR A MEDIA-CENTRIC FIREWALL
The embodiments herein describe a firewall for a media production system to provide flexible security between an on-premises production environment and remote media production applications and devices (e.g., cloud-based virtual production environments). As new media devices and applications (referred to generally as media nodes) are added at remote locations, the firewall is updated to permit the media nodes to communicate with the on-premises production environment. The embodiments herein described an automatic (e.g., software driven) process where a network orchestrator can detect a change in the media nodes and update the rule set in the firewall accordingly.
