MEASURING RESPONSE TRENDS IN A DIGITAL TELEVISION NETWORK
20220094622 · 2022-03-24 · ·

Techniques and systems for providing a trend server outside a content provider network to communicate with the content provider network to build a trend record based on responses received from the content provider network for monitoring certain activity trend or tendency in the content provider network and provide an alert when the content provider network behaves abnormally.

Systems and methods for implementing an on-demand computing network environment

Systems and methods are provided for a computer-implemented method of implementing an on-demand computing network environment. A network specification is received from a user. Resources from one or more resource providers are provisioned including an audio server resource. The on-demand computing network is configured, where configuring includes assigning a first provisioned resource as a hub device. One or more second provisioned resources are assigned as rim devices, where rim devices are configured to communicate with one another only via the hub device. One rim device is a proxy server to which the user connects using a device having an address, where the audio server transmits audio data to the user via the proxy server without knowledge of the address of the user device.

Control in a content delivery network

A content delivery network (CDN) includes a plurality of CDN components including at least one CDN rendezvous mechanism and at least one control core. The CDN components are controlled by control core data from the at least one control core. Some CDN components obtain CDN resources including control core data from at least some other CDN components. The CDN components use the CDN rendezvous mechanism to select one or more CDN components from which to obtain CDN resources.

Quality of Service Control in Content Delivery System

Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for controlling quality of service (QoS) provided to user devices by, for example, requesting a portion of the user devices to temporarily and selectively downgrade a quality of service. A downgrade message may be sent to the user devices to request a downgrade, and may provide information to allow the user devices to determine whether they will abide by the requested downgrade.

An apparatus having a device of a user and a computer is disclosed. The computer may be configured to (i) transfer a manifest to the device in response to a viewing session being opened. The manifest generally has a plurality of modified links to a plurality of bitrates of a video content. Each one of the modified links may include an identifier that is unique to the viewing session. The computer may also be configured to (ii) receive a particular one of the modified links from the device, (iii) log a presence of the viewing session, and (iv) generate a request by removing the identifier from the particular modified link.

Method and system for constructing content delivery network platform on heterogeneous resources

A method and system for constructing a content delivery network platform on heterogeneous resources are provided. The content delivery network platform includes a logic application layer and a basic resource layer. The construction method includes the following steps. After receiving an application creation request, the logic application layer determines actual resource configuration requirement information and resource type information of the application based on the application creation request, and sends the actual resource configuration requirement information and the resource type information to the basic resource layer. The basic resource layer creates a basic resource environment for the application based on the received actual resource configuration requirement information and the resource type information. Based on the self-defined logic application model, the present disclosure uses the ability modeling method to achieve the unified management of services constructed by a plurality of heterogeneous technical solutions such as physical machines, virtual machines, and containers.

Automatic root cause analysis for web applications

A method for enabling a root cause analysis for an error originating in a content management system, is provided herein. The method comprises storing an identifier and a version number for each digital content item undergoing a change relating to the digital content item, and rendering a web page including the digital content item. The identifier and the version number are invisibly included in the web page. The method also comprises including the identifier and the version number in a request based on the rendered web page including the digital content item, storing fingerprint data relating to the request, creating an error record if during an execution of the request an execution error occurs, and making available the error record, the identifier and the version number of the related digital content item, as well as the related fingerprint data.

Systems, methods, and devices for networked media distribution

A domain manager configured to manage and/or configure an audio-video (AV) system but not directly participate in networked media transmission or clock synchronization. The domain manager may include a database; an endpoint manager configured to communicate with the database, the endpoint manager being configured to setup and maintain secure connections to and from media devices and controllers; and at least one management module configured to communicate with the database and provide services to the media devices and controllers. In embodiments, the at least one management module may include at least one of a manager for managing credentials and grouping devices into domains, a device directory for managing device registrations and lookup, and an access controller for managing and/or evaluating access control policy.

Systems and methods for chaining control-plane virtual functions for ensuring end-to-end quality of service (QoS) of internet services
11082305 · 2021-08-03 · ·

Described are systems and methods for QoS chaining based on control-plane virtual functions for ensuring end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS) of Internet services. The QoS chaining coordinates broadband service delivery via an orchestrated “chain” or Network Service (NS) consisting of control-plane Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) running in the cloud or virtual infrastructure. Separate service elements, network elements, network domains or other service plane or data plane elements or systems have a separate corresponding VNF in the control plane provide monitor and control functions. QoS is ensured End-to-End (E2E) across the chain of VNFs by coordination through the QoS chain or by a coordinating or integrating E2E orchestrator or E2E VNF. The VNFs may be chained, may communicate directly with each other, and may communicate directly with the E2E orchestrator, may communicate with each other through the E2E orchestrator, or may communicate through a shared database.
