Method And Apparatus For Scheduling Broadcasts In Social Networks
A method, apparatus, and computer readable medium are provided for maximizing consumption of broadcasts by a producer. An example method includes receiving selection of a total number of time slots to use for scheduling broadcasts, and receiving information regarding the producer's followers. The example method further 5 includes identifying, by a processor and based on the received information, discount factors associated with the producer's followers, and calculating, by the processor and based on the received information, a predicted number of competitor broadcasts during each time slot of the total number of time slots. Finally, the example method includes determining, by the processor and based on the discount factors and the predicted 10 number of competitor broadcasts during each time slot, a number of broadcasts for the producer to transmit in each time slot of the total number of time slots.
A SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PROVIDING MULTIMEDIA SERVICE TO A USER EQUIPMENT
A system and method to provide multimedia services to consumption end devices like set-top boxes and legacy phone and tablet devices that are incompatible to receive the multimedia service directly. These consumption devices interact with devices that provide multimedia service. Further, the present disclosure discloses mechanisms where an end consumption device can connect to a device like LTE connectivity device and obtain eMBMS multimedia services.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ENSURING CONTINUED ACCESS TO MEDIA OF A PLAYLIST DESPITE GEOGRAPHIC CONTENT RESTRICTIONS
Systems and methods are described herein for detecting information that indicates that a user will be traveling from a first geographic location to a second geographic location, and responsively accessing a playlist indicated by a profile of the user that indicates a plurality of streaming media that the user intends to consume. Control circuitry may then compare data corresponding to each streaming media of the plurality of streaming media to a database to determine whether each streaming media of the plurality of streaming media is accessible to the user at the second geographic location, and may determine that a subset of the plurality of media is not accessible to the user at the second geographic location. In response to determining that the subset is not accessible to the user at the second geographic location, the control circuitry may download each media of the subset.
CONVERGENCE SUBLAYER FOR USE IN A WIRELESS BROADCASTING SYSTEM
A method of encapsulating data and a single frequency network configured to perform the method are disclosed. A content stream of data packets is received, and the data packets in the content stream are formatted in accordance with a first protocol. Information identifying a container size established for the content stream is received. The data packets formatted in accordance with the first protocol are fragmented and packed to form data units formatted in accordance with a second protocol, and the data units are sized based on the container size. The data units formatted in accordance with the second protocol are encapsulated to form second protocol data packets. The second protocol data packets are provided to a transmitter that is synchronized to one or more transmitters in a single frequency network so that each transmitter in the single frequency network broadcasts a same signal that includes the second protocol data packets.
Method And System For A Mesh Network Of Satellite Reception Assemblies
A satellite reception assembly that provides satellite television and/or radio service to a customer premises may comprise a wireless interface via which it can communicate with other satellite reception assemblies. Wireless connections between satellite reception assemblies may be utilized for providing satellite content between different satellite customer premises. Wireless connections between satellite reception assemblies may be utilized for offloading traffic from other network connections.
Techniques for ATSC 3.0 broadcast boundary area management using plural tuners handing off between presentation and scanning
Techniques are described for expanding and/or improving the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 3.0 television protocol in robustly delivering the next generation broadcast television services. In a boundary region between first and second broadcast stations in which a receiver can pick up signals from both stations, a primary tuner receiving signals from plural antennae presents a demanded service while a secondary tuner uses a single antenna to scan for duplicate transmissions of the service, with handing off between the tuners being effected between scanning and service presentation.
Methods of managing audio data transmissions over a network to ensure live voice quality
Methods of managing audio data transmissions over a network disclosed herein may include the step of selecting a client device from a plurality of client devices as a participating device, each client device of the plurality of client devices being in data communication with a network. The methods may include the step of signaling the participating device over said network thereby initiating transmitting of audio data from the participating device at least in part over said network for live broadcasting, the audio data being indicative of a speaking voice being input into a participating device microphone of the participating device. The methods may include the step of minimizing latency in transmitting of the audio data by throttling data being communicated over said network by one or more client devices of the plurality of client devices only while the participating device is transmitting audio data over said network.
HETEROGENEOUS MEDIA SERVICES
Systems and methods adapted for providing heterogeneous media services in communication systems, such as using transport layer security deferral and/or medium redirect, are disclosed. In operation according to embodiments, heterogeneous media services may be facilitated by obtaining, by a hybrid broadcast receiver of a receiver device, a computer parsable object comprising information regarding content segment availability and access, wherein the hybrid broadcast receiver is adapted to obtain content via both broadcast and broadband connections for a streaming client of the receiver device. The hybrid broadcast receiver of embodiments may further operate to evaluate the computer parsable object for one or more content segment entries indicating transport layer security is to be invoked with respect to a connection used for obtaining one or more content segments and to overwrite the one or more content segment entries preventing the transport layer security from being invoked by the streaming client.
Video delivery
The disclosure relates to a method of delivering a video frame. One implementation may involve spatially partitioning a video frame into a plurality of blocks, encoding at least one of the plurality of blocks of the video frame, and transmitting the at least one of the plurality of blocks of the video frame.
