ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING KEY ASSEMBLY
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device comprises a housing having a key hole formed therein and comprising a switch disposed therein, the key hole being formed such that a length extending in a first direction is longer than a length extending in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction and a key assembly coupled to the housing, at least part of the key assembly being disposed inside the key hole. The key assembly comprises a cover member, at least part of which is exposed outside the housing through the key hole and a pressing member that is coupled to the cover member and that presses the switch. The pressing member comprises first protrusions protruding from opposite longitudinal end portions of the pressing member in the first direction, and the first protrusions are brought into contact with an inner wall of the key hole and have elasticity such that at least parts of the first protrusions are capable of elastic deformation. Besides, it may be permissible to prepare various other embodiments speculated through the specification.
SWITCH ASSEMBLY FOR ENGAGING A SWITCH OF AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A switch assembly for engaging a switch of an electronic device includes a rotatable knob having an axis of rotation, a pin mechanism engaged with the rotatable knob, and a slider body. The pin mechanism includes a pin, the pin being offset from the axis of rotation of the rotatable knob. The slider body is shaped to include a slot in which the pin of the pin mechanism is positioned and a switch recess shaped to receive and selectively contact the switch of the electronic device. Rotation of the rotatable knob in a first direction causes the slider body toward contact with a first portion of the switch to urge the switch into a first position, and rotation of the rotatable knob in a second direction causes the slider body toward contact with a second portion of the switch to urge the switch into a second position.

According to various embodiments, an electronic device may include a first structure including a first plate including a first surface and a second surface facing away from the first surface, and at least one side surface, a second structure including a second plate facing the second surface of the first plate; a first side wall extended to the second plate; a second side wall extending to the first side wall and the second plate and facing the side surface; and a third side wall extending to the first side wall and the second plate, parallel to the second side wall and facing the side surface, wherein the second plate, the first side wall, and the second side wall and the third side wall together form a trough with one side opened to receive at least part of the first structure, the first structure is movable between an open state and a closed state with respect to the second structure in a first direction parallel to the second plate and the second side wall, and the first structure is placed at a first distance from the first side wall in the closed state, and placed at a second distance which is greater than the first distance from the first side wall in the open state, at least one mechanical button mounted on the second side wall, and moving toward the first structure from outside of the second structure, and a sensing circuit disposed between the side wall and the second side wall with at least partial area, and configured to detect the movement of the mechanical button. Besides, various embodiments are possible.
ELECTRONIC APPARATUS COMPRISING ANTENNA
An electronic apparatus having a housing, a flexible display, and a key button which is arranged in a first area on a side of a first part is provided. The key button includes at least one protrusion extending toward the inside of the first part and an antenna structure arranged on the inside of the first part with respect to the first area. The housing includes the first part, a second part, and a connection part arranged between the first part and the second part, the second part being rotatably coupled to the first part through the connection part. The antenna structure includes a dome switch arranged above a substrate at a position corresponding to the at least one protrusion, and a plurality of conductive patches provided on a conductive layer of the substrate. The dome switch may be arranged at the corresponding position between the plurality of conductive patches.
Electronic Devices With Sidewall Displays
Electronic devices may be provided that contain flexible displays that are bent to form displays on multiple surfaces of the devices. Bent flexible displays may be bent to form front side displays and edge displays. Edge displays may be separated from front side displays or from other edge displays using patterned housing members, printed or painted masks, or by selectively activating and inactivating display pixels associated with the flexible display. Edge displays may alternately function as virtual buttons, virtual switches, or informational displays that are supplemental to front side displays. Virtual buttons may include transparent button members, lenses, haptic feedback components, audio feedback components, or other components for providing feedback to a user when virtual buttons are activated.

A waterproof partition adapted to a button includes a waterproof film and a waterproof foam formed on a surface of the waterproof film and covering a periphery of the waterproof film. The waterproof foam is formed with an opening for providing a moving passage for pressing the button. The waterproof film has elasticity, and the waterproof film is annular.

Disclosed is an electronic device. The electronic device includes a sidewall structure that forms a surface of the electronic device and that includes a key area formed on the surface of the electronic device. The electronic device also includes an internal frame that is formed inside the electronic device and faces an inner surface of the sidewall structure. The electronic device further includes a sensor assembly disposed between the internal frame and the sidewall structure, at least part of the sensor assembly is aligned with the key area. The sensor assembly includes a sensor that senses a force applied to the key area, based on displacement of an inner surface of the key area. The sensor assembly also includes a support member having one surface supported on the sensor and an opposite surface supported on the internal frame.

Gesture detection using piezo-electric actuators
A gesture detection system comprising a virtual button structure for mounting in an outer frame of a mobile device for detecting finger gestures by a user. First and second piezo-electric actuators are in contact with the virtual button structure, and configured to generate first and second varying electrical signals, respectively in response to a dynamic force application to the virtual button structure. A processor is configured to execute instructions stored in memory to i) determine a magnitude and a position of the dynamic force application on the virtual button structure over time, based on the first varying electrical signal and the second varying electrical signal, ii) determine a gesture corresponding to the magnitude and the position of the dynamic force application over time; and iii) provide a response signal based on the gesture.

Provided are an electronic device, including a side frame, a signal triggering element fixedly disposed inside the side frame, and a button configured to extend through the side frame. The side frame defines a button hole directly facing the signal triggering element, and a limiting protrusion is arranged on an inner wall of the button hole. The button includes: a button post, extending through the side frame and disposed adjacent to the signal triggering element; a button cap, connected to the button post and engaged with the button hole; and a snap board, fastened to a side of the button cap facing the signal triggering element, wherein the snap board is configured with a hook engaged with the limiting protrusion for limiting.
