System and method for managing an automated voicemail
A system, method and computer-readable storage device are disclosed signing a voicemail and confirming an identity of the speaker. A method includes receiving a request to verify a speaker associated with a communication to a recipient, receiving first data from the speaker in connection with the communication, accessing second data associated with the speaker to verify the speaker, determining whether a match exists between the first data and the second data to yield a determination, retrieving a communication address of the recipient, generating a notification for the recipient, wherein the notification reports on the determination and transmitting the notification to the recipient at the communication address.
Method of identifying contacts for initiating a communication using speech recognition
A method and system on an electronic device which uses speech recognition to initiate a communication from a mobile device having access to contact information for a number of contacts. In one example, the method comprises receiving through an audio input interface a voice input for initiating a communication, extracting from the voice input a type of communication and at least part of a contact name, and outputting, to an output interface, a selectable list of all contacts from the contact information which have the part of the contact name and which have a contact address associated with the type of communication. The mobile device may also be configured to access remote contact information from a remote server.
Electronic device and control method thereof
A device and method for responding to a user voice including an inquiry by outputting a response to the user's voice through a speaker and providing a guide screen including a response to the user's voice.
Emergency mode for mobile devices
Methods and apparatuses for emergency modes for a mobile device (e.g., a mobile phone) are described. The mobile device may receive sonic signals indicative of a voice of a person uttering words and identify the person as an authorized user. The mobile device may determine that the words correlate with an emergency situation from a set of predefined emergency situations. Further, the mobile device may determine that the emergency situation satisfies a threshold. The mobile device may perform one or more tasks (e.g., making a phone call to an emergency service), after determining that the emergency situation has satisfied the threshold. In some cases, the mobile device may monitor physiological signals of the person and/or collect additional data to increase a confidence level associated with making the determination. In some cases, the mobile device may leverage or include an artificial intelligence algorithm/engine to facilitate managing the emergency modes.
Electronic device with trigger phrase bypass and corresponding systems and methods
An electronic device includes an audio capture device receiving audio input. The electronic device includes one or more processors, operable with the audio capture device, and configured to execute a control operation in response to a device command preceded by a trigger phrase identified in the audio input when in a first mode of operation. The one or more processors transition from the first mode of operation to a second mode of operation in response to detecting a predefined operating condition of the electronic device. In the second mode of operation, the one or more processors execute the control operation without requiring the trigger phrase to precede the device command.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DIGITAL ASSISTANT INTERFACE UTILIZING PLAIN-OLD-TELEPHONE
A system and method for utilizing a plain-old-telephone (“POT”) to interface with a digital assistant system. The POT is linked to an interface adapted to selectively provide a bidirectional audio connection to a standard telephone communication network, or to provide an interface to a digital assistant system in response to user voice commands. The functionality of the POT digital assistant interface being dependent upon the user input—DTMF tone/pulse dialing signals as opposed to voice commands spoken into the POT mouthpiece. Audio cues and prompts, as well as audio responses from the digital assistant system are provided to the user via the POT earpiece. Digital assistant functionality is provided via a simple and familiar interface, without impeding any standard voice telephony functionality (making/receiving calls, call waiting, caller ID, etc.)
Devices and methods for efficient emergency calling
Disclosed are devices, systems, methods, and media for efficient emergency calling using digital devices. In some embodiments, a user is able to make an emergency call by a one-touch or dual-touch process. An authentication process may reduce inadvertent and unauthorized emergency calling. Persistent emergency buttons are also disclosed that may be used for calling emergency in different states of the device.
Power management system
A vehicle communication system facilitates hands-free interaction with a mobile device in a vehicle or elsewhere. Users interact with the system by speaking to it. The system processes text and processes commands. The system supports wireless technology for hands-free use. The system handles telephone calls, email, and SMS text messages. The user can customize the device via a user profile stored on an Internet web server. The system also includes a plurality of power conservation features.
Automated messaging
Approaches provide for generating an introductory text message to be delivered to a recipient when a voice-enabled communications device is used to send a message to the recipient for a first time. For example, audio input data that includes an instruction to send a text message can be received and an application can analyze the audio input data to determine an instruction to send a text message, a message body, and an intended recipient of the text message. The application can determine whether a text message has previously been sent to the intended recipient using the voice-enabled communications device or another device associated with the customer's account. In the situation where a text message has been sent, a text message is generated that includes the message body and the application causes the text message to be sent to the intended recipient. In the situation where it is determined that this is the first time a text message is being sent to the intended recipient using the voice-enabled communications device or another device associated with the customer's account, an introductory text message is generated and the application causes the introductory text message and the text message that includes the message body to be sent to the intended recipient.
METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING AN ELECTRONIC ALARM VIA A SMARTPHONE, AND DEVICE FOR IMPLEMENTING THE METHOD
A method for generating an alert and an electronic message from a mobile smartphone comprising a display and various sensors including a GPS sensor, the method comprising the steps consisting of: —downloading, to a smartphone, a remote support application comprising the implementation of a service for controlling the microphone, even in the event of the phone being locked; —activating the sensors present in the mobile phone in order to collect information linked to the environment of the mobile phone; —carrying out a contextual analysis of the information collected by the sensors in order to determine an emergency situation requiring an alert to be triggered.
