A multifunction device for such purposes includes a display unit with a display screen, a device unit configured to generate an error code when an error in the device unit occurs, and a processor. The processor configured to acquire the error code from the device unit and transmit an error notification including the error code to an external apparatus. The processor then receives a counted number of errors from the external apparatus, and then select an error resolution screen to be displayed on the display screen based on the received counted number of errors.
