An image forming system includes a mobile terminal apparatus and an image forming apparatus. The mobile terminal apparatus displays a captured image of an operation panel of the image forming apparatus and transmits, in response to a user operation on the captured image, captured image data indicating the captured image and operation position data indicating a position of the user operation to the image forming apparatus. Based on the captured image data and the operation position data received from the mobile terminal apparatus, the image forming apparatus identifies an indirectly operated part of the operation panel, and executes an action corresponding to the identified part.

The information processing method, performed by a computer connectable to a terminal via a network, includes determining a status of a device based on a first image of the device transmitted from the terminal, specifying a solution for a problem occurring in the device based on the status of the device, displaying a first message on the terminal to indicate the specified solution, displaying a second message on the terminal to request a second image obtained by photographing a specified part of the device or the device in a specified state, updating the status of the device based on the second image, specifying the solution for the problem in accordance with the updated status of the device, and displaying a third message on the terminal to indicate the specified solution for the problem.

A printer having a printing unit that prints an image; a light emitting unit capable of switching colors of light emission; and a processor configured to: acquire an image to be printed from an external device; detect representative colors of regions by dividing the image to be printed by the printing unit into a plurality of regions; and control light emission of the light emitting unit, wherein the processor further configured to cause the light emitting unit to switch colors of the light emission based on the representative colors of the regions in order according to a printing progress of the image to be printed by the printing unit.

An image forming system includes: an image forming apparatus; a post-processing apparatus that includes post-processors corresponding to at least two post-processes and perform the at least two post-processes stepwise on paper on which an image is formed by the image forming apparatus; a setting receiver that receives post-processing settings corresponding to the at least two post-processes; and a hardware processor that determines whether or not the at least two post-processes are executable based on the post-processing settings corresponding to the at least two post-processes and that, in a case where it is determined that the at least two post-processes are not executable, when a post-processing setting corresponding to one of the at least two post-processes is a setting including numerical value input, provides notification regarding a numerical value input setting change in the post-processing setting corresponding to the one post-processing.
