A recording apparatus includes a rotating body that opens and closes an apparatus main body which is provided with a recording portion that performs recording on a medium and rotates between a first posture that is a closed posture and a second posture that is an open posture, a biasing unit that biases the rotating body in an opening direction, and a biasing release unit that releases an action of a biasing force applied by the biasing unit to the rotating body in a range from a third posture, which is a posture between the first posture and the second posture, to the second posture.

An image reader includes a curvature forming unit that contacts a medium upstream of a nip position between a feeding roller and a separating roller, and forms a curvature of the medium in a width direction that intersects a feeding direction. The curvature forming unit is capable of switching between a first state in which a curvature is formed in a medium and a second state positioned in a direction that is retracted from a feeding path of the medium compared to the first state. The curvature forming unit is associated with posture switching of the device body, and is brought to the second state when the device body takes a first device posture, and is brought to the first state when the device body takes the second device posture.

An image reading apparatus includes: a housing including a processing unit configured to process image information; an opening and closing member openably and closably provided on the housing, the opening and closing member including a reading unit configured to read an image from an image holding medium and configured to obtain image information from the image; a connection member that electrically connects the reading unit and the processing unit; and a protective member including a first protective member rotatably supported by the opening and closing member and a second protective member rotatably supported by the housing and rotatably connected to the first protective member, wherein rotation axial directions of the first protective member and the second protective member are the same direction as a rotation axial direction of the opening and closing member, and the connection member is accommodated in the protective member and protected by the protective member.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body including a housing cover, a printer, a discharge roller, a discharge portion, a scanner, and a document cover. The discharge portion is recessed downward in a vertical direction relative to an upper surface of the housing cover and includes a first wall and a second wall, and a receiving surface situated therebetween. The scanner is disposed downstream from the discharge portion in a sheet discharge direction, and includes a document table and an image sensor. The document cover is configured to pivot between a first position at which the document cover covers the document table of the scanner from above and a second position that is different from the first position. When the document cover is located at the first position, an upper surface of the document cover is substantially level with a downstream end of the receiving surface.

An image reading apparatus includes a first stacking unit, a feeding unit, a reading unit, a second stacking unit onto which a document whose image is read by the reading unit is discharged, a rotating shaft, and protrusions. The first stacking unit includes a sheet stacking surface on which the document is stacked and includes an abutment portion on which one end portion of the document abuts. The feeding unit feeds the document stacked on the first stacking unit in a feed direction. The reading unit reads an image of the document conveyed by the feeding unit. The rotating shaft extends in the feed direction and supports the first stacking unit so as to be rotationally movable. The protrusions extends in a direction at a predetermined angle with respect to the feed direction, is arranged on the sheet stacking surface, and protrudes from the sheet stacking surface.

An image reading apparatus includes a support section in contact with a mounting surface on which the apparatus is mounted, an apparatus body including a reader, the apparatus body, and a position holding section. The position of the apparatus body can be switched between a first position in which the apparatus body is not in use and a second position in which the apparatus body reads a document using the reader, and in which a projected area of the apparatus body on the mounting surface is larger than that in the first position, and the center of gravity of the apparatus body is lower than or equal to a rotation axis center of the apparatus body in a vertical direction viewed in a rotation axis direction of the apparatus body when the apparatus body is in the first position or in the second position.

An image reading device includes a conveyance unit configured to convey a carrier sheet and a reading object, a reading unit configured to read an image of the reading object, a display unit configured to receive an input of information about whether the reading object is conveyed using the carrier sheet, and a control unit configured to determine whether the reading object is being conveyed using the carrier sheet. The control unit performs predetermined processing on the image read by the reading unit when it is determined that the reading object is being conveyed using the carrier sheet. The control unit does not perform the predetermined processing on the image read by the reading unit when it is determined that the reading object is being conveyed without using the carrier sheet.

A foldable camera stand is disclosed which includes an elongated base plate, an imaging device, and an elongated first arm plate with a first end movably coupled to the base plate and a second end pivotally connected to the imaging device, the first end being opposite to the second end, wherein the imaging device and the first arm plate are approximately in the same plane which is substantially parallel to the base plate when the camera stand is in a folded state.

An apparatus body of an image reading apparatus is turnably provided to a body supporting portion. The apparatus body is turned so as to be switchable between a first posture and a second posture that forms an angle between a reading transportation path and a mounting surface being smaller than the corresponding angle formed in the first posture. A transportation path switching unit couples the reading transportation path to a reverse transportation path when the apparatus body takes the first posture, and couples the reading transportation path to a non-reverse transportation path when the apparatus body takes the second posture.

An image reading apparatus includes a body support section, an apparatus body supported by the body support section, and a reading section configured to read a document. The apparatus body is configured to rotate about a rotation shaft with respect to the body support section and the apparatus body is rotated to be switched to a first position or a second position, a position of the center of gravity of the apparatus body is located at a position vertically above a shaft axis of the rotation shaft and closer than the shaft axis to an apparatus front in an apparatus depth direction when the apparatus body is in the first position, and is located at a position vertically above the shaft axis of the rotation shaft and closer than the shaft axis to an apparatus rear in the depth direction when the apparatus body is in the second position.
