Moreover, a side edge position of the sheet in the width direction is detected during conveyance for the transferring onto each of the first surface and the second surface, and an image writing start position for the image forming unit is determined based on a result of the detection to store a result of the determination in a memory.
Document scanner with automated document alignment system
Embodiments are directed at a systems, methods, and apparatuses for automatically aligning the lead edges of a document stack loaded in a scanner system. An automated jogger system includes feeder gate elements which are driven forward and backwards in an oscillating motion. This motion causes the documents in the stack to slide between each other, causing the documents to move and rotate towards the feeder gate elements, aligning the lead edges of the stack prior to being fed into the document scanner.

An image reading apparatus includes a feed roller configured to feed a document, a transport roller disposed downstream of the feed roller and configured to transport the document downstream; a transport motor being a drive source of the transport roller; a reading unit disposed downstream of the transport roller and configured to read the document; and a control unit configured to control the reading unit and the transport motor, wherein the control unit is configured to obtain information on a document type and an inclination detection reference value for an inclination of image data set in accordance with the document type and obtained from the reading unit, and when the inclination of the image data exceeds the inclination detection reference value in accordance with the document type, the control unit stops the transport motor.

An image forming apparatus includes: a generation unit configured to generate image data based on a print job; a determination unit configured to determine whether image data corresponding to a sheet passing a predetermined location of a conveyance path through which sheets are conveyed is prepared in time; and a control unit configured to perform, in the case where the determination unit determines that image data is not prepared in time, control to leave the sheet as a blank sheet by skipping processing to form an image for the sheet, and the control unit changes a printing order determined in advance in the case where the determination unit determines that image data is not prepared in time.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device that forms an image on a sheet and an image reading device that conveys a document placed on a stacking portion and reads an image on the document. The image forming device outputs first and second output materials in succession. First output material constitutes a first type of sheet having a predetermined pattern image, and the second output material constitutes a second type of sheet having the predetermined pattern image. The image reading device conveys the first and second output materials in succession from the stacking portion and reads a first image and a second image. A first parameter to cause image formation using the sheet of the first type is acquired based on the first image and a second parameter to cause image formation using the sheet of the second type is acquired based on the second image.

According to an automatic document feeder of a multifunction peripheral according to the present invention, two tilt sensors are provided in the middle of a document conveyance path to detect a tilt degree of a document being conveyed along the document conveyance path. Here, for example, if the positional deviation representing the tilt degree of the document is greater than a predetermined threshold value ΔLs, the conveyance of the document is stopped. On the other hand, if this is not the case, the conveyance of the document is continued. In addition, the threshold value is set in accordance with the width dimension of the document, and in particular, the larger the width dimension, the smaller the threshold value.
Coordination of capture and movement of media
A described example system may include a connection engine, a capture engine, and a command engine. In that example, the connection engine wirelessly connects to an imaging device having a media location for placing media; the capture engine captures an image of media at the media location; and the command engine coordinates movement of the media in response to a capture operation or in preparation to perform the capture operation.
