Obtaining calibration data of a camera
According to an aspect, there is provided an apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory connected to the at least one processor. The at least one memory stores program instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to determine based on at least one indicator that a camera connected to the apparatus is in a dark environment, initiate a calibration sequence of the camera in response to determining based on the at least one indicator that the camera connected to the apparatus is in a dark environment, capture, during the calibration sequence, multiple images with the camera with different sets of shooting parameters, cause analysis of the captured images to obtain camera calibration data, and store the camera calibration data in a memory of the apparatus.

An image reading device includes a light applying unit that applies light from a light source to a recording medium, a detecting unit that detects the light reflected by the recording medium, a holding member that is movable in a first scanning direction of the light applying unit and holds a calibration member to which the light from the light applying unit is applied, a shaft member that extends in the first scanning direction through the holding member and guides the movement of the holding member in the first scanning direction, and a restricting member that extends in the first scanning direction and restricts rotation of the holding member about the shaft member.
Image forming apparatus and method of reading test sheet
An image forming apparatus automatically adjusts a printing distance from a sheet edge on the basis of a result obtained by reading, with a reader, a test sheet printed by an image former. The image former prints a solid cover sheet of a predetermined color other than white having a void portion on four sides. The test sheet is placed on OC glass having a first size guide and a second size guide on its periphery, in alignment with the origin of the first size guide and the second size guide. The reader reads the test sheet in a state in which the cover sheet is placed on the test sheet so that the void portion is disposed outside the first size guide and the second size guide.
STREAK COMPENSATION
Example implementations relate to streak compensation. Some examples may calibrate an initial gain for data from an optical element based on a scan of a first calibration target, obtain an image of a second calibration target from the optical element using the calibrated initial gain, and detect at least one streak in the image of the second calibration target. Some examples may also record data representing the at least one detected streak and may calibrate a final gain for the optical element based on the initial gain and the data representing the at least one detected streak.
Image reading device and correction method for image reading device
An image forming apparatus 1 includes: a conveyance unit 40 that conveys a medium; a reading unit 50 that reads an image formed on the medium conveyed by the conveyance unit; a storage unit that stores data for specifying a color indicated by a reading result obtained from the reading unit 50; and a correction unit that corrects the data to match a color of the image and the color indicated by the reading result. An image reading apparatus includes a reader that reads an image of a document by using plural light receiving elements arranged in a first scanning direction; a moving unit that moves the reader in a second scanning direction to move a reading position at which the reader reads the document; and an adjusting unit that moves the reader in the first scanning direction to adjust a position of the reader in the first scanning direction.
IMAGE-FORMING APPARATUS
An image-forming apparatus includes an image-forming unit; a calibration unit configured to execute calibration of the image-forming unit on the basis of a chart image formed by the image-forming unit; a reading unit configured to generate a read image including the chart image by reading, according to at least one reading condition, a sheet on which the chart image is formed while conveying the sheet along a conveyance path; and a control unit configured to determine, on the basis of the read image, whether the sheet has been correctly read by the reading unit. The control unit is configured to output a notification prompting a user to adjust the at least one reading condition in a case where it is determined that the sheet has not been correctly read by the reading unit.
