In a multifunction peripheral (MFP), an information processing apparatus includes an execution unit configured to execute a series of processing operations of the MFP including a plurality of processes by combining a plurality of extension programs according to a definition file that defines the series of processing operations, and a determination unit configured to determine a design of a user interface that is used in common by the plurality of extension programs executing the respective processes of the series of processing operations, wherein the plurality of extension programs has respective designs of user interfaces.

A workflow executing device executes the steps of: specifying a workflow; executing processes defined by the specified workflow; specifying an external process to be processed by a first external device from among the processes; specifying a device that stores account information requested by the first external device as a second external device in order to allow the first external device to execute the external process; generating a sub-workflow that defines a login process of logging into the first external device, a request process of allowing the first external device to execute the external process, and an execution result output process of transmitting the execution result to the workflow executing device; and changing the external process in the workflow to a workflow transmitting process of transmitting the sub-workflow to the second external device and an execution result receiving process of receiving the execution result from the second external device.

According to one embodiment, an information processing system includes a network, a workflow creation server accessible to a plurality of user terminals via the network, and a user setting server storing user settings for users of the user terminals. The workflow creation server creates a workflow plan in response to an operation of a workflow creator at a creator terminal. The workflow plan includes a step or process involving accessing a cloud service using a first cloud service account. The user setting terminal registers a second cloud service account for accessing the cloud service in response to an instruction from a user at a user terminal. The second cloud service account is associated with the user. When the workflow plan is executed by the user via the network, the second cloud service account is used for accessing the cloud service instead of the first cloud service account.
