Method and apparatus to measure blur and adjust printer parameters in response to blur
A method for measuring a blur of a print job and adjusting printer parameters in response to the blur is disclosed. For example, the method may be performed by a multi-function device (MFD) and includes printing an image on a print media, scanning the image, calculating a blur count for each location of the image in a cross-process direction, determining that the blur count for at least one location of the image is above a blur threshold, and adjusting at least one print parameter for a subsequently printed image on the MFD.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus that forms an image on a recording medium includes a detection section, an acquisition section, and a hardware processor. The detection section detects a physical property of the recording medium. The acquisition section acquires predetermined data related to the recording medium from an outside of the image forming apparatus. The hardware processor controls an operation in the image forming apparatus based on a detection value detected by the detection section and the predetermined data acquired by the acquisition section.
Image forming apparatus, display control method, and recording medium
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device; and circuitry to receive an instruction to print an image based on image data according to print settings, and based on a determination that the print settings indicate to print the image on a recording sheet having a second size larger than a first size of the image, control a display to display a preview image that reflects a printed image of the image data, the preview image including a margin at least at one side of the printed image, the margin having a size determined based on the second size of the recording sheet.
DYNAMIC PRINTER SETTING BASED ON DOCUMENT ANALYSIS
One embodiment provides a method, including: receiving, at an information handling device, a request to print a document; analyzing, using a processor, content of the document; determining, based on the analyzing, a printing characteristic of the content, wherein the printing characteristic comprises at least one of: a simplex printing characteristic and a duplex printing characteristic; establishing, based on the printing characteristic, a printer setting for printing the document. Other aspects are described and claimed.
Print control device performing print control for printing object on upper tape to be affixed to lower tape, and notifying of error when object meets precondition but does not meet all of prescribed conditions
A print control device includes a controller. The controller edits an image constituted by one or more objects including one or more upper objects, acquires an image area length, an image area width, a lower tape length, and a lower tape width, designates one upper object from among the one or more upper objects, and acquires an object area length, an object area width, and an upper tape width. In a case where a precondition is met for the designated upper object, the controller sets an orientation to a parallel orientation when a first condition or a third condition is met, and sets the orientation to an orthogonal orientation when a second condition or a fourth condition is met. The controller issues an error notification when the precondition is met but all of the first condition, the second condition, the third condition, and the fourth condition are not met.
DUPLEX PRINTING METHOD WITH SHRINKAGE COMPENSATION
A duplex printing method includes, determining an amount of shrinkage of a media sheet onto which a front side image has been printed; scaling an image to be printed on a back side of the sheet with a scaling function that depends upon the determined shrinkage; and printing the scaled image on the back side of the sheet. The step of determining includes predicting a shrinkage of a media sheet on the basis of process parameters, and on the basis of a model that is defined by a set of model parameters and that describes a dependence of the shrinkage on the process parameters, the process parameters including at least an amount of marking material to be applied to the front side of the sheet; measuring an actual shrinkage of the sheet; and adjusting the model parameters based on a comparison between the predicted shrinkage and the measured shrinkage to improve a prediction of a shrinkage for a subsequent sheet.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR IMAGE PROCESSING AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus includes a memory storing instructions and a processor to execute the instructions to perform operations. Four sides of a document included in captured image data are detected. Lengths of the detected four sides of the document are calculated. The operations further include determining which of a plurality of predefined paper sizes corresponds to the document based on the calculated lengths of the four sides. The determined corresponding paper size is set as a document size of the document.
IMAGE INSPECTION APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image inspection apparatus includes: an illumination part that emits light on an inspection target; a reading part that is arranged with, in one or more dimensions, elements that detect light reflected by the inspection target, the reading part reading an entire width of the inspection target; and a hardware processor that inspects a characteristic of the inspection target, wherein a light guide member is provided at a position where light regularly reflected by the inspection target passes, the light guide member is arranged to allow an optical path of light incident on the reading part via the light guide member to be parallel to an optical path of light incident on the reading part without via the light guide member, and the hardware processor inspects a gloss distribution of the inspection target, and inspects a density distribution of the inspection target.
