An image forming apparatus which, to the extent possible, prevents an operation for protecting a printer engine from being uncompleted before power to the printer engine is shut down due to cancellation of a process that should be carried out by the printer engine. When a predetermined time period has elapsed since an instruction to reduce power consumption was detected, power to the printer engine is shut down. When the instruction is detected, a canceling instruction for canceling the process that should be carried out by the printer engine is issued to the printer engine. Responsive to this, a cancellation process for the process is started, and an engine protecting instruction for protecting the printer engine without waiting for completion of the cancellation process is issued to the printer engine. After the operation for protecting the printer engine is carried out, power to the printer engine is shut down.

An image processing apparatus includes a memory that stores configuration information indicating one or more conditions for automatically setting a preregistered destination as a transmission destination of the image data, circuitry that, in response to receiving a user instruction for transmitting image data to a destination configured by a user, determines whether or not the configured destination satisfies at least one of the conditions indicated by the configuration information and configures the preregistered destination as a transmission destination of the image data in addition to the configured destination based on a determination indicating that the configured destination satisfies the predetermined condition, the preregistered destination being prohibited from modification by the user, and a transmitter that transmits the image data to the configured destination and the preregistered destination.

In embodiments disclosed herein disclose methods and systems for providing a multitenant facsimile server. The computer instructions may be executable to maintain a set of entity information, wherein the entity information defines a plurality of tenants, and maintain a database configured to store transmitted and received fax documents corresponding to a plurality of tenants. The computer instructions may be further executable to receive a facsimile document at the fax server, wherein the facsimile document comprises one of a document to be transmitted or a received fax. The computer instructions may be further executable to identify a tenant associated with the document based on an identifier. Further, the computer instructions may be executable to store the document in the database, wherein the document is associated with the tenant in the database.

An image processing apparatus capable of shifting to a power saving mode. The image processing apparatus includes a storing unit configured to store a document in a storage device, a notification unit configured to periodically notify an apparatus of a predetermined destination of information about a document that has been newly stored by the storing unit into the storage device, and a control unit configured to restrict shifting to a power saving mode in which the notification unit cannot make the notification after storage of a document by the storing unit has been completed and until the notification unit notifies at least information about the document.

An image processing apparatus capable of shifting to a power saving mode. For example, the display size image data is not allowed to be replaced by new digital image data unless the digital camera is not in use over a prescribed time. Own image data and other's image data are treated equally. Image data received from outside and retrieved from inside memory are treated equally. An image forming apparatus comprises: a receiver which receives facsimile or print data file in a page description language, from an information processing apparatus; a spooler which stores the facsimile or print data file received therefrom, on the spooler itself; a converter which converts the facsimile or print data file stored on the spooler, to an image data format; a job generator which generates a job based on the obtained image data file; a facsimile transmitter; a printer; and a job controller which instructs the facsimile transmitter or the printer to perform facsimile transmission or printing according to the generated job, respectively. And the converter selects the facsimile or print data file among those stored on the spooler, based on the state of the printer and the state of the facsimile transmitter, before converting the facsimile or print data file to an image data format.

An image forming device having a printer unit, a post-processing unit, and an eject tray. The printer unit forms images on recording sheets, and the post-processing unit performs processing on a recoding sheet stack composed of one or more recording sheets output from the printer unit before the recording sheet stack is ejected onto the eject tray. The image forming device includes: a buffer unit that, while a first recording sheet resides in the post-processing unit for the post-processing, holds a second recording sheet therein, the second recording sheet output from the printer unit subsequent to the first recording sheet; and a reverse path that reverses recording sheets when the image forming device performs duplex printing. In a plan view of the image forming device taken along a vertical direction, the post-processing unit, the buffer unit, and the reverse path at least partially cover one another.
