An apparatus includes circuitry to receive an input of problem information that is information on a problem, transmit the problem information to an information processing apparatus communicably connected to the apparatus via a network, and receive, from the information processing apparatus, troubleshooting information corresponding to the problem information. The troubleshooting information is information for solving the problem. The circuitry outputs the troubleshooting information, and transmits, to an extraneous resource, a repair request including the problem information and information indicating whether the troubleshooting information has been output.

An image processing apparatus receives, via a user interface setting screen, a designation to determine a specification of RFC used to return a value indicating a status of the image processing apparatus in response to a request from a host. A control unit of the image processing apparatus returns the value indicating the status conforming to a specification determined according to the designation in response to a request issued at the predetermined time interval from the host. The control unit further returns the value indicating the status conforming to a specification determined according to the designation in response to a request issued at a time interval shorter than the predetermined time interval from the host in a case where it is determined by the host that the former returned value indicates an abnormal state of the image processing apparatus.

An information processing apparatus includes a display screen and a display controller. The display screen displays a first message corresponding to a first event occurring in the information processing apparatus. The display controller controls, in a case where a second event occurs while the first message is being displayed on the display screen, a display mode of a second message corresponding to the second event, based on a relationship between the first event and the second event.

A readout controlling device includes a start time recording portion, a transmission controlling portion, an error determining portion, and a time changing portion. A start time of when a piece of information is read out from a storage device connected to the readout controlling device is recorded in the start time recording portion. The transmission controlling portion transmits a readout request to read out the piece of information, toward the storage device based on the start time. The error determining portion receives the piece of information readout from the storage device, and determines whether or not an error has occurred in the piece of information. If the error has been determined to have occurred, the time changing portion can change the start time recorded in the start time recording portion.

An image inspection device for performing image determination by a plurality of inspection items includes: an image reader that obtains an image reading result obtained by reading an image on a transfer medium; an operator that receives an operation input of a user; a hardware processor that receives an input to select an inspection item by the operator from among inspection items which can be set, and performs image determination by decided inspection item on the image reading result read by the image reader; and a notifier that notifies whether the inspection item received by the hardware processor can be inspected within a time corresponding to predetermined productivity.

Disclosed embodiments may include a system for measuring document legibility. The system may automatically receive document image data from a user device. The system may then process the image data using optical character recognition to create language data containing a plurality of words. The system may then obtain an overall number by counting the plurality of words in the language data. The system may then identify and count the common words within the plurality of words by comparing the plurality of words to words in a database. A score may be obtained by dividing the common word number by the overall number. The score may then be compared to a legibility threshold. If the score is below the threshold, the system may determine the document is illegible. If the score is above the threshold, the system may determine the document is legible.

A maintenance support system includes a network interface, a memory, and a processor configured to, upon receipt of first information indicating a status of a first apparatus via the network interface, store the first information in the memory, upon receipt of second information indicating a status of a second apparatus via the network interface, store the second information in the memory, and determine a priority of on-site maintenance between the first and second apparatuses based on the first and second information stored in the memory.

An information processing apparatus includes a display screen and a display controller. The display screen displays a first message corresponding to a first event occurring in the information processing apparatus. The display controller controls, in a case where a second event occurs while the first message is being displayed on the display screen, a display mode of a second message corresponding to the second event, based on a relationship between the first event and the second event.

A function execution apparatus includes a controller configured to display a standby screen for selecting a specific function from among one or more functions, the one or more functions including a file processing function to use a file storage service provided by a service providing apparatus when data communication with the service providing apparatus is performed through a communication network, determine whether the file processing function is in an executable condition, in response to determining that the file processing function is in an unexecutable condition, display on the standby screen an error image representing that the file processing function is in the unexecutable condition, accept a selection of the specific function in a state where the standby screen is displayed, and execute the selected specific function.
