Harvester for a Crop Growth System
20190289786 · 2019-09-26 ·

A method for growing plants includes both a seeder and a harvester both of which include arrangements for singulating the seeds and for measuring parameters of the seeds while singulated. This can be used for seeding selected seeds and for harvesting particular plants. The system operates by correlating information from the individual seeded seeds and from the harvested seeds in respect of a particular location on the growth medium and may include information relating the growth medium at the location. The location can be determined by seeding the plants in patterns which can be detected by a reader on the harvester. The system can be used to control selection of seeds to take into account soil conditions at the plant.

Connector for an agricultural vehicle

An agricultural vehicle includes: a chassis; a tank carried by the chassis; at least one meter module coupled to the tank, the at least one meter module having at least one gate; a gate control link coupled with the at least one gate of the at least one meter module; a control rod carried by the chassis; and a connector coupling the control rod to the gate control link at a connection interface such that movement of the control rod controls an open state of the at least one gate of the at least one meter module, the connector having a frangible portion adjacent the connection interface, the control rod and the gate control link uncoupling from one another upon a breaking force causing the frangible portion to break.

Meter roller for an agricultural metering system

A meter roller for an agricultural metering system includes a flute and a recess positioned adjacent to one another along a circumferential axis of the meter roller. The flute and the recess are configured to meter flowable particulate material from a storage tank to a material distribution system via rotation of the meter roller. In addition, a first circumferential extent of the flute is at least 1.5 times greater than a second circumferential extent of the recess along an entire longitudinal extent of the flute and the recess, and the entire longitudinal extent of the flute and the recess is greater than the first circumferential extent of the flute and the second circumferential extent of the recess.

Flow control insert for an agricultural metering system

A flow control insert for an agricultural metering system includes a head configured to couple the flow control insert to a housing of the agricultural metering system. The flow control insert also includes a tongue extending from the head. The tongue is configured to engage a channel in a meter roller of the agricultural metering system to substantially block flow of particulate material through the channel in a circumferential direction opposite a rotational direction of the meter roller.

A flow control insert for an agricultural metering system includes a body configured to couple the flow control insert to a housing of the agricultural metering system. The flow control insert also includes a shoulder extending from the body. The shoulder is configured to engage a channel in a meter roller to control flow of particulate material within the channel along a rotational direction of the meter roller.

Meter roller for an agricultural metering system

A meter roller for an agricultural metering system includes multiple flutes and recesses. The flutes and recesses are arranged on one or more segments in one or more respective alternating patterns along a circumferential axis of the meter roller, and the flutes and recesses are configured to meter flowable particulate material from a storage tank to a material distribution system via rotation of the meter roller. In addition, each segment includes at least 12 flutes, each segment includes at least 12 recesses, and an aggregate volume of the recesses is between about 80,000 mm.sup.3 and about 84,000 mm.sup.3.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE FLOW OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS FROM A VARIABLE-RATIO BLENDING APPLICATOR

An improved roller assembly for a metering device, with reduced contact between the surface of the roller and the inner surface of the metering housing so as to reduce the areas within the roller assembly where a blockage may occur, and an improved mounting of the metering device so as to improve access to the roller assembly for maintenance. Also provided is an improved process control for driving the stepper motor of a metering device, so as to better detect the onset of a stall condition of a stepper motor and temporarily increase the torque supplied to the motor to avoid a stall condition. Additionally, an improved air manifold incorporates venturi assemblies to reduce or eliminate blockages that may occur when a local reservoir for holding a small reserve of agricultural product adjacent the metering device has reached capacity due to continual supply of product from a product hopper.
