Tracking User Interaction from a Receiving Device

Measuring and tracking user interaction with a television receiver, such as a set top box or cable box. The television receiver may create and display a matrix code that includes temporal information, user identification information, geographic information, and/or a user selection. The matrix code may be captured by a matrix reading device and transmitted to a monitoring entity. Optionally, the matrix reading device may decode the matrix code and transmit associated data to the monitoring entity. The monitoring entity may use the code or data to track and distinguish between user interactions at different points in time.

Methods and devices are provided for live broadcasting in a live broadcasting field. The method includes: displaying a first button corresponding to public live broadcasting; obtaining a public account associated with a log-in account logging in to the live broadcasting application, when a trigger operation on the first button is detected; sending a live video streaming to respective audience sides corresponding to the public account.

VIDEO RECOMMENDING METHOD, SERVER, AND STORAGE MEDIA

A video recommending method, including: obtaining videos, the video including long videos and short videos; obtaining a subset of the long videos, of which video attribute values are greater than corresponding attribute thresholds; obtaining a watching record of a user, and obtaining similarities between the short videos and videos in the watching record, to extract a preset quantity of short videos having highest similarities; and recommending the subset of the long videos, of which video attribute values are greater than corresponding attribute thresholds, to the user, and/or recommending the preset quantity of short videos having highest similarities to the user.

APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATED REAL-TIME LIVE VIDEO STREAMING FOR EQUESTRIAN SPORTS

A system and methods for generating automated real-time live video stream of a target that is moving around an obstacle of pre-defined area uses an automated video streaming provided with a plurality of video cameras that are positioned about the pre-defined area by tracking the moving target and displaying the moving target on the animated timeline such as current class leader will be automatically displayed and compared, in real time, with the rider on the track and integrating the data collected by the wireless network to make video stream from that camera to the optimized video stream.

UNOBTRUSIVELY ENHANCING VIDEO CONTENT WITH EXTRINSIC DATA

The playback of video content upon a display is enhanced through the unobtrusive presentation of extrinsic data upon the same display. A video content feature is rendered on a display. A quantity of extrinsic data relevant to a current time in the video content feature is determined based at least in part on viewing history of a user. A graphical element presenting at least a portion of the extrinsic data is rendered on the display while the video content feature is also being rendered on the display.

Sharing Video Recording Resources Over a Network

A method of sharing recording capability on a network, the network having a server supporting at least a recording DVR and a receiving DVR, the recording and receiving DVRs being in different households, the method comprising: (a) determining that the receiving DVR is unable to record the content at a certain time; and (b) identifying that the recording DVR is able to provide the receiving DVR with a recording of the content; (c) recording the content on the recording DVR at the certain time; and (d) transmitting the content from the recording DVR to the receiving DVR after the certain time.

IDENTIFYING POPULAR NETWORK VIDEO SEGMENTS

A method for identifying popular segments of a network video comprising: receiving video player operation information for a plurality of video players operated by users accessing the network video; evaluating a popularity measure for one or more segments of the network-video using the received operation information so as to identify popular segments of the network video.

ADAPTABLE PROGRAMMING GUIDE FOR NETWORKED DEVICES
20180014054 · 2018-01-11 ·

In one embodiment, a method of generating an electronic program guide for a user of an entertainment system is disclosed. The method includes retrieving, by a user computer in communication with the entertainment system, preference criteria corresponding to one or more user preferences describing payment requirements. The user computer receives a plurality of content listings, each content listing comprising a content title, an indication of a content source, and a payment requirement, and a search query including a content title. The user computer also identifies a subset of the plurality of content listings based on content title and the search query, and ranks each content listing in the subset based on a comparison of the preference criteria and the payment requirement of each content listing in the subset. A content entry in the electronic program guide is created comprising each content listing in the subset in ranked order.

Generating deterministic de-identified unique household identifiers (UHIDs)

In an anonymous matching system, a demand-side service platform (DSP) may select segments to populate a target audience. A data warehouse platform and a multichannel video programming distributor (MVPD) platform ingest address lists, eliminate personally identifiable information (PII) from the address lists, and process the de-identified addresses to generate deterministic unique anonymous household identifiers (UHIDs). Households may be selected, for example, at the DSP's direction, to form a query request without exposing the PII. In response to the query request, the MVPD platform determines a matching UHID and includes a matching household attribute, such as an IP address or the like, in a query response without exposing the PII.
