PREDICTION MODEL TRAINING VIA LIVE STREAM CONCEPT ASSOCIATION
20220132222 · 2022-04-28 ·

in certain embodiments, training of a neural network or other prediction model may be facilitated via live stream concept association. some embodiments, a live video stream may be loaded on a user interface for presentation to a user. A user selection related to a frame of the live video stream may be received via the user interface during the presentation of the live video stream on the user interface, where the user selection indicates a presence of a concept in the frame of the live video stream. In response to the user selection related to the frame, an association of at least a portion of the frame of the live video stream and the concept may be generated, and the neural network or other prediction model may be trained based on the association of at least the portion of the frame with the concept.

Systems and Methods for Annotating Video Media with Shared, Time-Synchronized, Personal Reactions
20220132214 · 2022-04-28 ·

A system and method for sharing personal information, such as user comments on defined video media is described, wherein a server may receive and classify user information from a user. The server may further track user interactions between the user and one or more other users. The server may share certain user information classified as disclosure information with the one or more other users upon determining that a disclosure condition has been met. The server may also transmit one or more notifications relating to such disclosure. Thus, different users may search for various types of viewing partners (selected according to various parameters), and share text, audio, or video comments on the same video media, such as movies or television shows, either in real time, or on a non-real time basis.

Display device and operating method therefor

Provided is a display device including: a display; a communicator; a memory storing one or more instructions; and a processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory, to perform control to extract a video fingerprint from current content being displayed on the display, transmit the extracted video fingerprint to a server, receive, from the server, a first response comprising a matching result of the extracted video fingerprint and video fingerprints stored in the server, extract an audio fingerprint from the current content being displayed on the display in case that the extracted video fingerprint matches a plurality of video fingerprints stored in the server according to the first response, transmit the extracted audio fingerprint to the server, and receive, from the server, a second response comprising a matching result of the extracted audio fingerprint and audio fingerprints stored in the server.

System and method for detecting advertisements in multimedia assets

Systems and methods for determining the location of advertisements in multimedia assets are disclosed. A method includes obtaining an audio signature corresponding to a time period of a multimedia asset, identifying a match between the obtained audio signature and one or more stored audio signatures, comparing programming data of the multimedia assets of the obtained audio signature and the matching audio signatures, and determining whether the time period of the multimedia asset contains an advertisement based on the comparison of the programming data of the multimedia assets of the obtained audio signature and the one or more matching audio signatures. Another method includes identifying matches between a plurality of obtained audio signatures and a plurality of stored audio signatures, and determining whether consecutive time periods of the multimedia asset contain an advertisement based on a number of consecutive matching audio signatures of the plurality of stored audio signatures.

Identifying and retrieving video metadata with perceptual frame hashing

Shoppable video enables a viewer to identify and buy items appearing in a video. To retrieve information about the items in a frame of the video, the playback device generates a perceptual hash of that frame and uses that hash to query a first database storing perceptual hashes of different version of the video. The database query returns an identifier for the frame, which is then used to query a second database that store the item information. The results of this query are returned to the playback device, which shows them to the user, enabling the viewer to learn more about and possibly purchase the item. Using queries based on perceptual hashes of different versions of the video increases the likelihood of returning a match, despite formatting differences. And using separate hash and metadata databases makes it possible to update the metadata without changing the hashes.

Systems and methods for retrieving segmented media guidance data

Systems and methods are presented for reducing network traffic when retrieving media guidance data. For example, a media guidance application receives a first user selection to display a group of media asset identifiers (e.g., video-on-demand listings) and retrieves detailed information from a remote server relating to the media asset identifiers to display to a user. The media guidance application then may receive a user selection to display a second group of media asset identifiers (e.g., purchased media assets). If any of the media asset identifiers are common to both groups, then the media guidance application already obtained the detailed information and the detailed information does not need to be retransmitted in order to be displayed. Thus, the media guidance application only retrieves detailed information for media asset identifiers unique to the second group of media asset identifiers (e.g., they are only on the purchased media asset list).
