SEAMLESS DVRS
Systems, devices, and process described facilitate use of a first user device communicatively coupled to a local area network (LAN) The first user device may include a first hardware processor configured to execute first, non-transient, computer instructions for facilitating a first seamless DVR engine configured to identify a first content. A second user device is also coupled to the LAN. The second user device may include a second hardware processor configured to execute second, non-transient, computer instructions for facilitating a second seamless DVR configured to identify a second content. Each of the seamless DVR engines may be configured to generate a common universal directory identifying the first content and the second content as being available for use by each of the first user device and the second user device. User devices may independently populate the common universal directory. The universal directory may identify a distinct status for the content.
Broadcast management system
A broadcast management system creates, manages, and streams a broadcast of an event from videos captured from multiple cameras. A video capture system comprising multiple cameras captures videos of the event and transmits the videos to a broadcast management server. The broadcast management server generates a website or other graphical interface that simultaneously displays the captured videos in a time-synchronized manner. A broadcast manager user creates a broadcast by selecting which video to output to the broadcast at any given time. A broadcast map is stored for each broadcast that includes all of the broadcast decisions made by the broadcast manager user such that the broadcast can be recreated at a later time by applying the broadcast map to the raw videos. Using a viewer client, viewers can browse or search for broadcasts and select a broadcast for viewing.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTERACTIVE SEARCHING OF TRANSCRIPTS AND ASSOCIATED AUDIO/VISUAL/TEXTUAL/OTHER DATA FILES
A system and method for processing digital multimedia files to provide searchable results includes the steps of converting a digital multimedia file to a plain text data format, annotating each word in the file with an indicator such as a time stamp to indicate where the word appears in the file, converting each indicator to an encoded indicator using characters that are not indexed by search software, indexing the converted, annotated file, storing the converted, annotated file and a file location of the converted, annotated file, receiving a query from a user's computer, and returning search results to the user's computer that include search snippets comprising unindexed portions of one or more files considered responsive to the query and the file location of those files.
Database Table Storage Techniques for Video Delivery Service Authorization
Particular embodiments generate a database table that keeps track of authorization package combinations for videos being offered by a video delivery service. The table may allow the video delivery service to keep track of how much content is available for a specific authorization package combination that a user might have access to In one embodiment, the video delivery service does not pre-generate every single possible authorization package combination on a per-show basis. Rather, only a subset of the authorization package combinations is generated for each show. Then, the video delivery service uses a query to the database table that can calculate which content a user is authorized to access from the subset of authorization package combinations that were generated.

Connecting consumers with providers of live videos
A computer-implemented method includes receiving by one or more computer systems, a request from a client system of a consumer for a live, real-time video having specified attributes of a performance embedded in the live, real-time video; searching by the one or more computer systems a database of attributes of performances associated with live, real-time videos; and causing by the one or more computer systems a connection between the client system of the consumer with a system of a provider of a live, real-time video captured performance based on the specified attributes included in the request for the live, real-time video.
Systems and methods for achieving ad avoidance by selectively switching media streams
Systems and methods are disclosed herein for avoiding playback of an advertisement by selectively switching between media streams. To this end, a media guidance application receives a plurality of media streams from different sources, switches to a first media stream and plays back a first media asset of the first media stream, and determines that an end to playback of the first media asset is imminent. The media guidance application then determines whether a second media stream of the plurality of media streams is within a threshold amount of time of playing back a beginning of a second media asset, and if the second media stream is within the threshold amount of time of playing back the beginning of the second media asset, the media guidance application switches from the first media stream to the second media stream and plays back the second media asset.
Recording and playback system based on multimedia content fingerprints
A method for recording media content based on media content fingerprints is described. A media device records content received in a content stream from a scheduled start time of a media content to a scheduled end time of the media content to create a content recording. The media device derives one or more fingerprints from the content recording. A fingerprint database is queried with the one or more fingerprints to determine that a first portion of the content recording comprises an advertisement and a second portion of the content recording comprises the media content. In response to a request to play the content recording, starting playback of the content recording at the beginning of the second portion of the content recording.
