Various arrangements for authorizing content viewing are detailed herein. Sports wager data corresponding to a sports wager placed by a user may be provided to a television service provider system. The television service provider system can perform a lookup action to determine a content event based on the sports wager data. In response to the received sports wager data, a user account may be authorized using a rights scheme for access to a television channel on which the content event is scheduled to be broadcast. The television service provider system may deauthorized the user account for access to the television channel by removing the rights scheme such that access to the television channel on which the content event was broadcast is blocked after the event.

Conversion components may receive game video rendered in high-dynamic-range (HDR) and standard-dynamic-range (SDR) camera video of a game player. The conversion components may provide local video output to a local display and remote video output for network transmission to remote viewers. The SDR camera video may be converted to HDR and provided with HDR game video in the local video output. For HDR network transmission, the HDR game video and converted HDR camera video may be included in the remote video output. For SDR network transmission, the HDR game video may be converted to SDR and provided with the SDR camera video in the remote video output. The game video, camera video and other video feeds may have respective portals in the local and remote video outputs. The local and remote video outputs may have respective visual portal arrangements that may be at least partially different from one another.

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a media server and parsing engine, 3.sup.rd party mobile aggregator, client servers, and a plurality of communication devices that are each associated with a user and a user profile. The media server can provide one or more of the plurality of communication devices with access to media content, with the access being provided at a time selected by the user. At least one of the one or more of the plurality of communication devices can transmit a critique of the media content. The media server can award points to the user based on performing the critique, and can transmit the critique and user information from the user profile to the client server. The media server can provide the at least one of the one or more of the plurality of communication devices with access to at least one of services or goods to be purchased with the points. The media server can redeem the points based on a purchase of the at least one of the services or goods using the points. Other embodiments such as the obtaining of end user preferences of content in a natural environment are disclosed.

An apparatus, method, system and computer-readable medium are disclosed for, in one aspect, determining when a trigger, such as an application trigger, should be generated. In some embodiments, the application trigger may be generated when a frame included in a feed (e.g., a content feed) matches a specified or indicated frame. In some embodiments, a comparison between the feed and the specified or indicated frame may be based on one or more tolerances or thresholds. In some embodiments, the feed may be split and content (e.g., video) obtained via the split may be combined (e.g., multiplexed) with a trigger. The combined content and trigger may be transmitted to one or more devices, such as one or more user devices.

An apparatus, method, system and computer-readable medium are disclosed for, in one aspect, determining when a trigger, such as an application trigger, should be generated. Systems and methods for notification forwarding may include forwarding all or selected notifications generated by one or more applications running on a wireless mobile device to a television receiving device that is connected to the television. This forwarding may occur over the short-range wireless network or on a home wireless local area network on which the television receiving device is also present. The receiving device may cause the forwarded notifications to be displayed on the television while the television is also displaying other programming received from various other sources. The particular location on the presentation device to display the forwarded notification and the size, color and appearance of the notification may be selected by the user via a graphical user interface of the wireless mobile device and/or the television receiving device.

Systems and methods for notification forwarding may include forwarding all or selected notifications generated by one or more applications running on a wireless mobile device to a television receiving device that is connected to the television. This forwarding may occur over the short-range wireless network or on a home wireless local area network on which the television receiving device is also present. The receiving device may cause the forwarded notifications to be displayed on the television while the television is also displaying other programming received from various other sources. The particular location on the presentation device to display the forwarded notification and the size, color and appearance of the notification may be selected by the user via a graphical user interface of the wireless mobile device and/or the television receiving device.

In the present specification, a digital device and a method of processing data in said digital device are disclosed. Here, a digital device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a memory; a user interface unit that receives a menu request signal through a remote application executed in an external device; a display unit that displays an executed application; and a control unit that determines the properties of the received menu request signal on the basis of the application being displayed and generates menu data, implements controlling to transmit the generated menu data to the external device and output the menu data through a screen of the external device, and when a menu item selection signal of the menu output from the external device is received, implements controlling to transmit or activate menu data corresponding to the menu item selection signal.

Systems and methods for generating bill pay requests via an internet-enabled video displaying device are described. The transaction generating system presents users with the option to generate a bill pay request to vendors of products and/or services while the user is passively consuming video content. As video content relating to a given product or service is displayed, a notification invites the user to generate a bill pay request. The user can then use the internet-enabled video displaying device to generate and send a request to transfer funds to the vendor.

A television and system and method for providing a remote control device are disclosed. In one embodiment of the television, the television includes a processor, a memory, a tuner, a panel, and an audio driver therein in an interconnected architecture. The television may establish a pairing with a proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device, such as a proximate wireless-enabled interactive handheld device having a touch screen display, whereby formatted parallel audiovisual experience instructions, including virtual buttons, may be transmitted to the proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device for display on the touch screen display to create an experience parallel to the experience on the television. The television receives and processes virtual remote control functionality input instructions from the proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device to control amenities associated with the television.
