VARIABLE CHUTE DEVICE FOR POWER MOWER
A variable chute device includes an elongated member and a deflection plate. The elongated member extends between the deflection plate and a passenger area and a power mower. The deflection plate includes a main body and an attachment portion. The attachment portion extends from the main body and movably couples the main body to a deck of the power mower. The main body is movable between a closed position, an open position, and a plurality of variably controlled partially-open positions by actuation of the elongated member. In the closed position, the main body extends across the opening of the chute to prevent grass clippings from exiting the chute through the opening, and in the plurality of variably controlled open partially-positions, the main body is spaced apart from the opening of the chute at varying gaps to control an amount of the grass clippings to exit the chute through the opening.

A variable chute device includes an elongated member and a deflection plate. The elongated member extends between the deflection plate and a passenger area and a power mower. An electrically actuated mulch control lever includes an upper plate and a lower plate pivotably mounted together on a top surface of a mower deck. A compression spring is retained between the upper plate and the lower plate urging the upper plate and the lower plate to pivot together. An electric linear actuator is connected to one of the plates, and a mulch gate hinge is attached to the other plate.

An electrically actuated mulch control lever includes an upper plate and a lower plate pivotably mounted together on a top surface of a mower deck. The lever can be attached to the shutter and can extend through the cutter housing slot. The cutter housing slot can be configured to limit movement of the lever such that a range of motion of the blocking panel extends from the first shutter position to the second shutter position.

The cutter housing slot can be configured to limit movement of the lever such that a range of motion of the blocking panel extends from the first shutter position to the second shutter position.

A lawn mower includes a cutter blade that cuts grass; a body portion including a housing containing the cutter blade, and a grass clippings discharge passage that discharge grass clippings cut by the cutter blade from the housing; a grass clippings container detachably attached to the body portion, and a slide device. The grass clippings discharge passage includes an upstream opening connected to the housing, and a downstream opening for ejecting grass clippings to outside of the body portion. The grass clippings container includes an opening opened toward the body portion and connected to the body portion, an end surface facing the opening, and a side surface extending from the opening to the end surface. The slide device adjusts a distance between the downstream opening of the grass clippings discharge passage and the end surface of the grass clipping container.

A lawn mower includes a cutter blade that cuts grass; a body portion including a housing containing the cutter blade, and a grass clippings discharge passage that discharge grass clippings cut by the cutter blade from the housing; a grass clippings container detachably attached to the body portion, and a slide device. The grass clippings discharge passage includes an upstream opening connected to the housing, and a downstream opening for ejecting grass clippings to outside of the body portion. The grass clippings container includes an opening opened toward the body portion and connected to the body portion, an end surface facing the opening, and a side surface extending from the opening to the end surface. The slide device adjusts a distance between the downstream opening of the grass clippings discharge passage and the end surface of the grass clipping container.
