The required information acquisition unit acquires information showing required groups that are groups determined to require supplements of the consumables used in image forming devices that are managed per group. The supplement instruction unit performs a supplement instruction of the consumables for the required groups. The mounting information acquisition unit acquires mounting information showing the image forming device mounted with the consumable supplemented in response to the supplement instruction. The group update unit specifies a mounting group that is the group to which the image forming device mounted with the consumable belongs based on group correspondence information obtained by associating the image forming device and the group, and the mounting information, and updates the group correspondence information if the required group and the mounting group are different from each other.

An image processing apparatus includes a controller capable of generating occurrence of an event to be audited, as log information; a storage that stores the log information; an outputter that reads and outputs the log information stored in the storage in response to an acquisition request for the log information by an information processing apparatus; and an adder that adds, to the log information, identification information indicating that the log information has been stored in the information processing apparatus. The controller stores the log information added with the identification information in the storage. In a case where a storage amount of the log information stored in the storage has reached an upper limit when newly storing log information generated in association with occurrence of the event, the controller deletes the log information added with the identification information from the storage, and stores the generated log information.

An image forming apparatus that is capable of reducing network traffic in sending an audit log. The image forming apparatus is communicable with a communication apparatus. The audit log including multiple types of logs is stored in at least one of the storage device or an external storage device. On receiving from the communication apparatus a request for sending the audit log, the image forming apparatus performs control for sending the audit log to the communication apparatus. In the control for sending the audit log, on receiving the request for sending the audit log, the image forming apparatus sends, to the communication apparatus, information indicating a storage location of one or more logs each having a data amount larger than a predetermined amount among the logs included in the audit log, rather than the one or more logs.

An image processing apparatus that communicates with a chat server which controls displaying of received image data in a talk room of a chat service provided by the chat server, based on received information about the talk room, and controls transmission of a notification, based on received user information on a notification destination user, the image processing apparatus includes a reading unit configured to read an image of a document to generate image data based on the image, a registration unit configured to register the talk room of the chat service and the notification destination user in association with an object, and a transmission unit configured to transmit the image data generated by reading of the reading unit, the information about the talk room, and the user information on the communication destination user to the chat server, in response to selection of the object.

Methods and systems for an auditing infrastructure for an Internet fax service architecture are provided. According to one embodiment, information regarding an event, associated with a component of the Internet fax service architecture, that is to be logged, is received by a centralized audit logging module of the Internet fax service architecture. The component may be a web server, an email server, a fax server, a notification server or an imaging system. The information is utilized by the centralized audit logging module to determine specific parameters within the Internet fax service architecture to be logged. Finally, the event, including the information and the specific parameters, is recorded by the centralized audit logging module to an audit log associated with the Internet fax service architecture in a standardized format.

Methods and systems for an auditing infrastructure for an Internet fax service architecture are provided. According to one embodiment, a chronological record of a sequence of events associated with components of the Internet fax system is maintained by a central logging module in a form of an audit log for purposes of auditing security and compliance. A fax request is submitted. A work request is created, containing information identifying a selected imaging system. Source files to be included in the fax message are converted into a digital representation and associated with an outbound fax job, which is queued for sending by a fax server. The fax message is delivered and the user is notified regarding same. Audit log entries are stored within the audit log by providing by respective components the central logging module with a unique job identifier associated with the fax request and a result of the task.

An image processing apparatus includes a controller capable of generating occurrence of an event to be audited, as log information; a storage that stores the log information; an outputter that reads and outputs the log information stored in the storage in response to an acquisition request for the log information by an information processing apparatus; and an adder that adds, to the log information, identification information indicating that the log information has been stored in the information processing apparatus. The controller stores the log information added with the identification information in the storage. In a case where a storage amount of the log information stored in the storage has reached an upper limit when newly storing log information generated in association with occurrence of the event, the controller deletes the log information added with the identification information from the storage, and stores the generated log information.

An information processing apparatus includes a memory and processing circuitry. The memory stores log data generated by an execution of a process. The processing circuity stops the execution of the process in a state where the process is being executed and when an amount of the log data in the memory is larger than a first threshold, and restarts the execution of the process in a state where the execution of the process is stopped and when the amount of the log data in the memory is smaller than a second threshold that is smaller than the first threshold.

Provided is an image forming apparatus that can acquire a log at the time of connection with a support terminal of remote maintenance service. The image forming apparatus includes a connecting part, an operation acquiring part, and a log acquiring part. The connecting part connects with the support terminal in a session of a specific protocol. The operation acquiring part acquires operational information corresponding to operation of the support terminal connected by the connecting part. The log acquiring part acquires log information, which is acquired in the support terminal, with the same session as the operational information acquired by the operation acquiring part.

An image forming system includes: an ID terminal that stores a public key and a secret key and that outputs the public key and the secret key to an external device when the ID terminal authenticates a user; an image forming apparatus that prepares a log data relating to printing; a storing device that stores the log data prepared by the image forming apparatus; an information processing device that authenticates the user by using the ID terminal; and a log viewing device that authenticates the user by using the ID terminal. When the information processing device receives a print instruction for printing a predetermined print data from the authenticated user, the information processing device transmits a print job to which the public key obtained from the ID terminal is added, to the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus receives the print job to which the public key is added.
