An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, an operation section, storage, and a controller. The image forming section forms a document image on a recording medium. The operation section includes a touch panel. The storage stores image data therein. The controller: converts document image data to two-dimensional barcode image data; randomly determines a position and an orientation of a two-dimensional barcode image to be located in a document image; stores to the storage the two-dimensional barcode image data together with information on the position and the orientation that are determined by the controller; and causes, only when a correct answer about the information on the position and the orientation is received from a user through the touch panel, preview display of the document image through converting the two-dimensional barcode image data back to the document image data.

The invention comprises a printing method, comprising the steps of: marking a markable surface with a graphical code; loading into a plotter system the markable surface; receiving a print job related to the graphical code; and plotting the set of vectors on the markable surface, such as by identifying a particular media type of the markable surface with the graphical code, receiving into the plotter system a print job, the print job comprising: (1) the set of vectors; and (2) a printable media requirement; scanning, with the plotter system, the printable media code; and confirming the printable media requirement matches the particular media type.

A method performed by a data processing apparatus and an image forming apparatus includes transmitting, by the data processing apparatus, an execution instruction for a job to the image forming apparatus, generating, by the image forming apparatus, an authentication code corresponding to the transmitted execution instruction and displaying the authentication code or information representing the encrypted authentication code on a display unit of the image forming apparatus, transmitting, by the data processing apparatus, an authentication code to the image forming apparatus, and executing, by the image forming apparatus, a job corresponding to the transmitted execution instruction in a case where a predetermined condition is determined to be satisfied based on the transmitted authentication code and the generated authentication code.

A memo and gift authenticating system comprises a touch input device configured for input by a user. The memo and gift authenticating system comprises at least one processor. The memo and gift authenticating system comprises a non-transitory tangible machine readable medium. The non-transitory tangible machine readable medium comprises instructions configured to cause the at least one processor to capture a freehand memo employing the touch input device, store the freehand memo in a data storage device, receive gift data corresponding to a gift, store the gift data in the data storage device, and associate the freehand memo with the gift data in the data storage device.

Certain examples relate to a method of printing management. An image is received for printing and printing parameters to print the image are determined. The image is printed onto a substrate using the printing parameters, and the image is printed with an embedded code corresponding to the printing parameters. The printing parameters are associated with the embedded code such that the printing parameters are retrievable from the embedded code.

An image processing apparatus may include a processor including a processing unit, a creating unit, and an output unit. The processing unit stores image data created by executing a job in a storage unit. The creating unit creates an information code representing information indicating a storage area of the storage unit in which the image data is stored. The output unit displays the information code created by the creating unit on a display unit.

A method and system for creating a printing plate from a vector format image file having image and non-image areas. A boundary in vector coordinates is identified via a user interface that defines each image area corresponding to an image patch. The image file is raster image processed (RIPped) to create RIPped image information associated with the vector coordinates corresponding to the image patches. The RIPped image information and associated vector coordinates are processed to create RIPped image patches, register marks attached to each RIPped image patch, and the RIPped image patches with register marks and corresponding vector coordinates stored in a processing file. A file provision system includes a file generation apparatus and a file relay apparatus. The file generation apparatus includes first circuitry. The first circuitry provides a user terminal with device identification information identifying the file generation apparatus and access destination information indicating an access destination to the file relay apparatus. Various methods and systems for a printer having verifiers are disclosed herein. Such methods provide for voiding a printed media in a batch printing run. The methods further correspond to identifying the printed media that is printed as part of the batch printing run as a failed media in an instance an assigned grade fails to satisfy a predetermined threshold, marking the printed media as a failed printed media, determining whether the batch print run is in sequential mode or non-sequential mode, marking the one or more subsequently printed media as additional failed printed media, and reprinting the failed media in sequence after one or more subsequently printed media before continuing the batch printing run if the batch print run is in sequential mode.

A printing apparatus of the present invention has a printer unit, a display unit for displaying a screen, and a setting unit for setting either of a first setting for displaying the screen by standard color information and a second setting for displaying the screen by color information different to the standard color information. If the second setting is set, the color information of the screen displayed by the display unit is changed, and if a code image to be read by an external apparatus is included in the screen displayed by the display unit, the code image is made to not be displayed in a state in which color information of the code image is changed even if the second setting is set.
