METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR OPTIMIZING IMAGE DATA FOR DATA TRANSMISSION
This disclosure relates generally to edge computing, and more particularly to method and system for optimizing image data for data transmission. In one embodiment, a method is provided for optimizing image data for transmission to a server. The method may include receiving a plurality of server rules from the server with respect to an optimization and a transmission of the image data, generating a plurality of local decision making rules based on the plurality of server rules and one or more local events, analyzing at least a first portion of the image data based on the plurality of local decision making rules to generate image analytics data, and generating optimized image data for transmission to the server. The optimized image data comprises at least a second portion of the image data and the image analytics data.
Image forming apparatus, image forming method, and medium storing a program, with selecting between process executable by image forming apparatus and process executable by external device
A PC registers in advance PC-assistant copying functions which can be provided by the printer driver for a MFP. The MFP presents, to the user, copying functions including the registered functions. Upon reception of a copy instruction, the MFP determines whether selected functions include a PC-assisted copying function. If the selected functions include a PC-assisted copying function, the MFP transmits, to the PC, scanned image data and a job ticket containing information representing the selected functions. Upon reception of the job ticket, the PC generates a print job for printing the image data on the basis of the job ticket, and transmits the print job to the MFP.
DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING FOR PORTABLE COMPUTING DEVICES
This disclosure describes a distributed reader architecture for a mobile computing device such as cellular telephone handset. One claim recites a portable computing device including: memory for storing a library of processing components, the library including a signal detector component and an audio fingerprinting component; a microphone for capturing ambient audio; one or more processors configured for: invoking the audio fingerprinting component for processing captured audio to produce an audio fingerprint, wherein the audio fingerprinting component comprises a filtering process, in which the filtering process produces components of the captured audio that are used to produce the audio fingerprint; and invoking the signal detector component, in which the signal detector component comprises a fast detect process for analyzing the captured audio to determine the presence of an auxiliary signal within the captured audio, and when the presence of the auxiliary signal is detected, controlling the signal detector component for detecting the auxiliary signal to yield a detected auxiliary signal. The device further includes a communications output for communicating the audio fingerprint and the detected auxiliary signal to a remotely located server. Of course, other claims and combinations are provided as well.
Terminal device
A terminal device performs operations includes: a file information receiving process to receive M pieces of file information for identifying M image files from a printer storing M image files; a specific signal receiving process to receive a specific signal from the printer; a determination process to determine whether an inter-device distance is equal to or less than a predetermined distance by using a received radio field intensity of the specific signal; a selection process to select N pieces of file information, which is a part of the M pieces of file information when it is determined in the determination process that the inter-device distance is equal to or less than the predetermined distance; and a print instruction transmission process to not transmit the print instruction to the printer when it is determined that the inter-device distance is not equal to or less than the predetermined distance.
Camera-biometric motion timer and method
An athlete measures sprint time by locating a smartphone having a camera and clock start button which is first activated at the finish line. The sprint end time is recorded by a photo stamp time app. This sprint end time activates a video trigger causing the smartphone to send a RF stop event signal to a wrist mounted motion sensor worn by the athlete. A sensor timer is started via the start event by track or self starting. In track starting, the athlete pushes a start button on the sensor to initiate a variable 2-5 second delayed sound READY-SET-GO series of beeps to start the sprint. In self starting, the sensor detects threshold motion parameters of the sprinter's start which activates the sensor's free running clock and saves the start time. The time base on the sensor is used to calculate run time.
Cooperative image processing system, cooperative image processing method, portable terminal apparatus, image processing apparatus, and recording medium
A cooperative image processing system including an image processing apparatus and a portable terminal apparatus capable of connecting to each other. The image processing apparatus includes a first processor to execute instructions to control the functions of a first screen data obtaining portion that obtains screen data for reproducing a first operation screen that allows operating the portable terminal apparatus, from the portable terminal apparatus. The image processing apparatus further includes a memory that stores a cooperation table that contains a list of operations that can be performed on the first operation screen and a plurality of next second operations to be displayed in a next second operation screen that allows operating the image processing apparatus, each of the next second operations corresponding to a respective one of the operations on the list of operations that can be performed on the first operation screen.
PROVIDING CAMERA SETTINGS FROM AT LEAST ONE IMAGE/VIDEO HOSTING SERVICE
Camera settings are provided by retrieving, based on current metadata defining a current position of a camera (5) and from a storage, metadata defining respective positions of other cameras and camera settings used by the other cameras when taking photos or videos that are uploaded on an image/video hosting service. Information representative of camera settings used when taking a photo/video selected among the photos/videos available on the image/video hosting service is provided for transmission to the camera (5).
Information distribution system and method for distributing content information
This invention provides an information distribution system comprising an image data processing device (11), a server (12), and a portable telephone unit (15 having image data acquisition means for acquiring image data with a destination address attached thereto and display means for displaying the image data, wherein the image data is distributed from the image data processing device (11) to the portable telephone unit (15), and advertisement information based on user information is extracted from an advertisement information storage unit (29) and appended to image/text data by an advertisement information appending unit (30) provided in the server 12.
