The disclosure relates to a battery charger for one or more hearing devices, comprising: a test sound generator configured to produce testing sound; an input configured to obtain first information regarding a first microphone output of a first hearing device in response to the testing sound and obtain second information regarding a second microphone output in response to the testing sound. A processing unit is configured to detect a clogging of a filter such as a wax filter based at least in part on the first information regarding the first microphone output of the first hearing device, and based at least in part on the second information regarding the second microphone output. An output is configured to provide a signal indicating the clogging of the filter.

Acoustical protector for audio devices and audio device provided with said protector
11330382 · 2022-05-10 · ·

An acoustically transparent protector for an audio device provided with a sound generating transducer having a sound port covered by said protector for use with a human ear for the reproduction of sound which allows sound to pass through with little attenuation or distortion but does not allow foreign material such as ear wax, dust, debris, or water to pass into the sound port. The protector of the invention is provided with a sound radiating element having at least a curve portion and a suspension part. The protector of the invention realizes a “perfect” barrier that attenuates the sound entering the audio device as little as possible and does not suffer from significant sound distortions.

Battery compartment of a hearing device configured to inhibit the ingress of debris into the battery compartment

A hearing aid assembly includes a receiver speaker enclosed within a receiver housing. The receiver housing defines a circuitous receiver acoustic channel, wherein the receiver channel defines an open side along at least a portion of the receiver channel. The receiver channel also defines a pass-through passage extending from a first side of the receiver housing to a second side of the receiver housing, wherein the pass-through passage is partially defined by the wall defining a receiver opening. The hearing aid assembly also includes an earbud configured to fit over at least a portion of the receiver housing and partially cover the open side of the receiver channel.

The present disclosure relates to an earring hearing aid using a receiver in the tube (RIT) including a case which receives therein a microphone, an interface socket, an acoustic processing means, a memory button, a volume controller, a battery and a battery electrode, a receiver which outputs an acoustic signal through a lead wire having one end connected to the acoustic processing means, a hearing aid shell which receives an end of the receiver tube disposed at an opposite side to a side where the receiver is inserted in the receiver tube along a lengthwise direction, a face plate covering an inlet of the hearing aid shell, and an earring hook having one side inserted into an outer peripheral surface of an exit hole of the case to cover an outer peripheral surface of the lead wire exiting through the exit hole.

Wax management system

A guard for a space access device is configured to output air flow through a distal end portion thereof. The guard includes q housing having a proximal end opening, a distal end opening, and a filter portion positioned between the proximal and distal end openings. The filter includes a first plate having a first opening therethrough and a second plate having a second opening therethrough. When the first plate is overlaid in contact with the second plate, this forms an aperture that extends through both the first and second plates.

Cerumen filter applicator

A tool for replacing a cerumen filter in a sound conduit of a hearing aid. The tool is designed to position a cerumen filter along the sound conduit and to couple with and remove a cerumen filter that has been positioned along the sound conduit. The tool comprises an insertion tip and an removal tip, both configured to fit inside the sound conduit and to couple or engage with an engagement body extending centrally from the cerumen filter. The tool may be in the form of a stylus with the insertion tip on one and the removing tip on the other end. The tool may also be in the form of a disc dispenser with a plurality of insertion and removal tips attached to the dispenser and accessible for use by rotating plates making up the disc dispenser.

Methods, apparatus and systems for biometric processes

A method for use in a biometric process, comprising: with a headset in a known acoustic environment, applying an acoustic stimulus at a first transducer of the headset; receiving a response signal at a second transducer of the headset, the response signal comprising a component of the acoustic stimulus reflected at an obstacle in the acoustic path of the first transducer; determining a condition of the headset based on the response signal; and performing the biometric process based on the determined condition.

The present invention relates to an acoustical assembly adapted to be inserted into an ear canal, said acoustical assembly comprising a receiver unit adapted to generate sound pressure waves, a microphone unit adapted to detect sound pressure waves inside the ear canal when the acoustical assembly is inserted in the ear canal, and a nozzle comprising a receiver unit mount adapted to house at least part of the receiver unit, wherein the nozzle comprises at least one sound channel adapted to guide generated sound pressure waves from a receiver unit outlet to at least one sound outlet opening of the nozzle, and wherein the nozzle further comprises a microphone unit mount adapted to house at least part of the microphone unit. The present invention further relates to a hearing device comprising an acoustical assembly.

Cerumen protection plug

A cerumen protection plug for a hearing device. The cerumen protection plug prevents cerumen from passing along a sound conduit in the hearing device and blocking sound output from a receiver in the hearing device. The cerumen protection plug includes a circular plug containing a cerumen barrier. A positioning handle allows the cerumen barrier to be positioned along the sound conduit, where it prevents cerumen that has entered the sound conduit from traveling along the sound conduit to the receiver or an output port of the receiver.
