Method of Providing a Communication Function in a User Equipment
A method of providing a communication function in a user equipment includes receiving, at the user equipment, a login request to log the user in to the user equipment; determining, by the user equipment, based on the login, whether the user equipment has a communication profile associated with the user; if it is determined that the user equipment has a communication profile associated with the user, enabling the stored communication profile; if it is determined that the user equipment does not have a communication profile associated with the user stored: sending, by the user equipment, a first request to a first server to request support information for obtaining a communication profile associated with the user; receiving, at the user equipment, the support information from the first server; and obtaining, by the user equipment, the communication profile from the first server or a second server based on the support information.
Secure provisioning of electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) profiles
A method of providing an electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) profile to a wireless communication device. The method comprises receiving an eSIM profile provisioning request by a subscription manager-data preparation+ (SM-DP+) server, wherein the provisioning request comprises an embedded UICC identifier (EID) number, a private identity code, and wireless communication service subscription information; building an eSIM profile package by the SM-DP+ server based in part on the wireless communication service subscription information, wherein the eSIM profile package comprises an eSIM profile, the EID number, and the private identity code; sending a notification of the availability of the eSIM profile by the SM-DP+ server to a subscription manager-discovery server (SM-DS server), wherein the notification comprises the EID number and the private identity code; and transmitting the eSIM profile package by the SM-DP+ server to the wireless communication device.
Method and System for Updating Certificate Issuer Public Key, and Related Device
A method includes receiving, by an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC), first information from a local profile assistant (LPA), where the first information includes a first certificate issuer (CI) public key identifier, and the first CI public key identifier is a CI public key identifier that the eUICC does not have. The method further includes sending, by the eUICC, second information to an OPS, where the second information includes the first CI public key identifier. The method further includes receiving, by the eUICC, a patch package from the OPS, where the patch package includes at least a first CI public key corresponding to the first CI public key identifier. The method further includes updating, by the eUICC, a CI public key of the eUICC by using the first CI public key.
Method, apparatus, and system for sending terminal policy
This application provides a method, an apparatus, and a system for sending a terminal policy. After determining that a terminal is not reachable, a mobility management network element may send, to a visited policy control function network element, a notification indicating that a first message fails to be forwarded. The visited policy control function network element may determine, based on the notification, a first PTI allocated by a home policy control function network element to a first policy, and send, to the home policy control function network element, both the first PTI and the indication indicating that the first message fails to be forwarded, to notify the home policy control function network element.
Radio access technology capability signaling
A method, an apparatus, and/or a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. Radio capability signaling (RACS) optimization for the radio access technology (RAT) may be deployed for some user equipments (UEs) in a network to reduce a signaling overhead associated with identifying UE radio capabilities. The UEs may be configured with a set of UE radio capability identifiers, such as a UE radio capability identifier for a narrowband (NB) RAT, a UE radio capability identifier for a non-NB RAT, and/or the like. A UE may provide a single UE radio capability identifier corresponding to a type of RAT to which the UE is to connect. The BS may determine that the UE supports RACS optimization for the RAT. If the UE does not provide the UE radio capability identifier, the BS may infer that the UE does not support RACS optimization.
Cellular wireless service preferences transfer
Apparatus and methods to transfer user preferences for cellular wireless service associated credentials transferred from a source device to a target device. Transfer of credentials can include physically moving a physical subscriber identity module (SIM) card between devices, transfer of cellular wireless service from a first SIM card at the source device to a second SIM card at the target device, and/or transfer of cellular wireless services for one or more electronic SIMs (eSIMs) from the source device to the target device. Preferences associated with some or all of the transferred SIMs/eSIMs can be applied at the target device when certain matching criteria are satisfied. Exemplary matching criteria include matching identifiers, such as integrated circuit card identifier (ICCID) values, mobile station international subscriber directory number (MSISDN) values, and/or mappings thereof. Transfer of preferences can occur via a local peer-to-peer connection, a secure cloud-based service, and/or a backup and restore process.
DISCOVERY AND SELECTION OF A STANDALONE NON-PUBLIC NETWORK (SNPN) BASED AT LEAST IN PART ON AN SNPN ROAMING GROUP
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of one or more SNPN roaming groups associated with a network to which the UE is subscribed. The UE may determine that a transmission from an SNPN identifies a roaming group identifier associated with an SNPN roaming group of the one or more SNPN roaming groups. The UE may register with the SNPN based at least in part on determining that the transmission identifies the roaming group identifier. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Wireless communication network optimization for user applications in wireless user equipment (UE)
A wireless User Equipment (UE) to optimize network communications for a user application. A UE operating system receives a user permission for the user application to access network characteristics. The user application calls the operating system for the network characteristics, and the operating system obtains the network characteristics from wireless network circuitry in response to the user permission. The operating system transfers the network characteristics to the user application. The user application selects one of multiple wireless communication networks based on the network characteristics. The wireless network circuitry wirelessly exchanges user data for the user application with the selected wireless communication network.
Blaze non-browser based application for purchasing digital products
A method and system for conducting an online payment transaction through a point of sale device. The method includes receiving input from a user selecting an item for purchase through the point of sale device; calculating a total purchase amount for the item in response to a request from the user to purchase the item; and sending payment authorization for the total purchase amount from the point of sale device to a payment entity, in which the payment authorization is sent to the payment entity via a mobile communication device of the user. The method further includes receiving a result of the payment authorization from the payment entity through the mobile communication device; and completing the payment transaction based on the result of the payment authorization.
ELECTRONIC SUBSCRIBER IDENTITY MODULE TRANSFER ELIGIBILITY CHECKING
Embodiments described herein relate to eligibility checking for transfer of one or more electronic subscriber identity modules (eSIMs) between two mobile wireless devices. Eligibility to transfer an eSIM to an eUICC of a target device can depend on whether the eUICC of the target device satisfies certain security requirements for the eSIMs to be transferred. The mobile wireless devices can obtain a transfer eligibility result based on communication with one or more network-based servers that can determine compatibility for eSIM transfer.
