SLICES FOR APPLICATIONS BASED ON MULTIPLE ACTIVE SIM PROFILES
User circuitry within a wireless User Equipment (“UE”) that may utilize multiple subscriber identity module (“SIM”) profiles activates two or more SIM profiles to be active simultaneously. The user circuitry transfers service requests for wireless data services using the SIM profiles to network circuitry. The wireless data services may have different slice service types over different operating frequency bands of different target cells. The network circuitry wirelessly exchanges data with wireless access nodes associated with the target cells over the operating frequency bands to establish packet data unit sessions comprising the slice service types using the respective SIM profiles such that multiple packet data unit sessions are active using multiple SIM profiles simultaneously. Various applications may be mapped to the appropriate SIM profile and packet data unit session based on the respective provisioned slice characteristics matching the respective application requirements.
Methods and systems for determining eSIM profile presence for reactivation
A service provider may receive a user device that includes an embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) associated with an equipment identifier (eID) with a previously provisioned service. The previously provisioned service may be provided by an eSIM profile (identified by an Integrated Circuit Card Identifier or ICCID) and the eSIM may contain more than one ICCID. The service provider may re-provision one of the existing ICCIDs to provide service based on the eID and historical data. The device and the carrier provisioning system may determine whether one of the profiles (ICCIDs) installed in the eSIM matches an already known eSIM profile (ICCD) and re-provision the eSIM profile (ICCD) for new wireless service. The service provider may then activate the user device for communication via the new wireless service in response to re-provisioning of the applicable eSIM profile (ICCID).
User-friendly wireless service activation procedure using remote eSIM provisioning
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, identifying an assigned friendly-phrase embedded universal integrated circuit card identifier (fpEID) for a wireless communication device and sending a service request message to a service provider network to initiate a service activation procedure, the service request message comprising the assigned fpEID. Various embodiments can include sending an fpEID assignment request message to a device vendor network, receiving an fpEID assignment confirmation message from the device vendor network in response to the fpEID assignment request message, and identifying the assigned fpEID based on the fpEID assignment confirmation message. Other embodiments are disclosed.
OTA MASTER, SYSTEM, METHOD, NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM, AND VEHICLE
An OTA master includes one or more processors configured to: configured to receive, from a center, first update data for a first electronic control unit on which a first-type non-volatile memory having one storage area is mounted and second update data for a second electronic control unit on which a second-type non-volatile memory having two storage areas is mounted, the first electronic control unit and the second electronic control unit being included in a plurality of electronic control units mounted on a vehicle; and control, based on a communication state between the OTA master and a plurality of target electronic control units of which pieces of software are to be updated among the electronic control units, software update for the target electronic control units based on update data, the update data including the first update data and the second update data.
Converged Smart Wireless Subsystem
A converged wireless subsystem environment includes a converged wireless front end controller. The converged wireless front end controller includes: a WiFi modem control circuit, the WiFi modem control circuit generating WiFi modem control information for controlling a WiFi modem; a cellular radio control circuit, the cellular radio control circuit generating cellular radio control information for controlling a cellular radio; a WiFi modem sideband interface, the WiFi modem control circuit communicating the WiFi modem control information with the WiFi modem via the WiFi modem sideband interface; and, a cellular radio sideband interface, the cellular radio control circuit communicating the cellular radio control information with the cellular radio via the cellular radio sideband interface.
Download management with congestion mitigation for over the air content delivery to vehicles
Among other things, this document describes systems, devices, and methods for wireless content delivery to vehicles and in particular to vehicles in cellular radio environments. The teachings hereof can be used to deliver a vehicle manufacturer's head unit updates, firmware, configurations, and other data to a vehicle. In embodiments, downloads are managed at the control plane and/or data plane. Download management can include mitigating either current or anticipated wireless congestion at cell towers, enforcing campaign priority for firmware updates, accommodating occupant-originated data flows to and from the vehicle, and/or accounting for contractual data arrangements between vehicles makers and cellular providers, among other things.
Cloud-based cellular service management for mobile wireless devices
This Application sets forth techniques for cloud-based cellular service management for a set of associated mobile wireless devices, including maintenance of information for one or more subscriber identity modules (SIMS) and/or electronic SIMs (eSIMs) used by the set of mobile wireless devices.
Policy transmission method, policy control function (PCF) network element, and computer storage medium
A policy transmission method, a policy control function (PCF) network element, and a computer storage medium, where the method includes: obtaining, by a PCF network element, a connection management state of a terminal apparatus, where the connection management state includes a connected mode or an idle mode; and sending, by the PCF network element, policy rule information to the terminal apparatus when the connection management state of the terminal apparatus is the connected mode.
Techniques in evolved packet core for restricted local operator services access
Embodiments of the present disclosure describe methods, apparatuses, storage media, and systems for performing a restricted local operator services (RLOS) authorization procedure. Various embodiments enable a network to authorize a user equipment (UE) with an RLOS access or subscription properly while aiding in minimizing or preventing potential denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
UE capability signaling to support 5G new radio (NR) in unlicensed spectrum (NR-U)
A method for UE capability signaling to support NR-U is proposed. A UE transfers UE capability information to a mobile communication network, and the UE capability information includes information regarding whether the UE supports system information acquisition on an unlicensed cell. The UE receives configuration from a serving cell of the mobile communication network, and the configuration includes information for system information acquisition of one or more unlicensed cells on a frequency. The UE acquires system information of the one or more unlicensed cells on the frequency and reports the acquired system information to the serving cell, or stores the acquired system information in the UE.
