Base stations, user equipment devices (UEs), and methods for a base station to supply service type-specific information to the UE. The base station may broadcast a first system information block (SIB) comprising scheduling information for a plurality of second SIBs, wherein each of the plurality of second SIBs corresponds to a respective service type of a plurality of service types, and wherein the second SIBs describe service type-specific capabilities of the base station. The plurality of service types may comprise two or more of enhanced mobile broadband, ultra-reliable low latency communications, and massive machine-type communications. The base station may broadcast the plurality of second SIBs according to the scheduling information of the first SIB, and may establish a connection and communicate with the UE using one or more service types and according to the service type-specific capabilities described by second SIBs corresponding to the one or more service types.

SYSTEM OF MOBILE DEVICE OPERATING SYSTEM AND APPS DELIVERY SERVICE

A system of mobile device operation system and apps delivery is disclosed. All updates of the mobile device including system updates and feature apps updates are delivered over-the-air (“OTA”). When a system update is available, it is delivered to the mobile device for download and installation. If feature apps updates are available but a system update is not available, the system delivers the feature apps updates to the mobile device for download and installation. Feature apps updates coming from the two different routes are stored in different partitions of the OS image on the mobile device for version control. Feature apps updates included in subsequent system updates takes precedent over previously installed updates of the same or earlier versions.

Customization of data session retry mechanism in a wireless packet data service network

In one embodiment, a method is provided for customization of a mobile communications device's data session retry mechanism in a wireless packet data service network. The mobile communication device requests activation of a data session with a node via the wireless network and receives a reject message via the wireless network in response to the request for activation of the data session, the reject message including a cause code. If the cause code corresponds to a no-retry behavior of the data session retry mechanism of the mobile communication device, the mobile communications device no longer requesting activation of a data session with the node.

Method and apparatus for wireless signal based location endpoint triangulation using 5G MMWAVE, LTE, and WI-FI

An information handling system operating a diverse wireless location determination system, comprising receiving an instruction to determine a location of an endpoint information handling system having a plurality of network interface device modules supporting a plurality of wireless network protocols, a processor executing instructions to aggregate data including detected time of flight (TOF) signal distance and signal quality values relating to signals exchanged between the endpoint information handling system and a plurality of diverse wireless protocol access points, the processor to determine at least three diverse wireless protocol access point signals meet a signal quality threshold, where at least two of the diverse wireless protocol access points operate under different wireless protocols, and the processor conducting weighted multiangulation or multilateration utilizing the detected TOF signal distances of the exchanged signals based on the detected signal quality category and type of wireless protocol for the exchanged signal.

METHOD AND SERVER FOR PUSHING DATA TO MNO

Provided is a method for pushing data to a mobile network operator (MNO), the method being suitable to be implemented by a server and comprising the following steps of: receiving, from the MNO, a message comprising at least one communication pattern associated with at least one device identifier identifying a type or a provider of a device; receiving, from a user, a request for downloading a subscription profile of the MNO; sending, in response to the request, the subscription profile to a device of the user; identifying, from the at least one communication pattern, a communication pattern applicable to the subscription profile according to device data obtained from the request; and pushing data comprising an identifier of the subscription profile and the applicable communication pattern to the MNO.

Service selection set publishing to device agent with on-device service selection

Disclosed herein are various embodiments for publishing a service offer set to a device agent on an end-user device and for on-device selection of a service. In some embodiments, a network system publishes a service offer set to an end-user device over a wireless access network, receives an offer set user selection from the end-user device, and provisions one or more network functions based on the offer set user selection.

Selecting a non-3GPP access network

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for selecting a non-3GPP access network. One apparatus includes a processor and a transceiver for communicating with one or more non-3GPP access networks. The processor creates a first list of available PLMNs connectable via non-3GPP access networks. Here, the first list indicates one or more trusted connectivity types supported for each PLMN. The processor selects a first PLMN and a first connectivity type supported by the first PLMN. The processor creates a second list of available non-3GPP access networks. The processor selects a highest priority available non-3GPP network that supports the first connectivity type to the first PLMN. The processor begins a connectivity procedure with the first PLMN using the first connectivity type over the selected non-3GPP access network.

Updating settings of a wireless device by exchanging authentication and configuration information via an inductive coupling link
11589217 · 2023-02-21 · ·

A method and a system are provided for updating settings of a wireless device. An inductive coupling link is established between a first wireless device and a second wireless device upon detection that the first wireless device is within a threshold proximity to the second wireless device. The second wireless device receives a token from the first wireless device via the inductive coupling link. The second wireless device forwards the token to a remote device that stores a user profile associated with the user of the first wireless device. The second wireless device receives at least a portion of the user profile from the remote device in response to the token being forwarded. The second wireless device performs an update procedure to update one or more settings of the second wireless device in accordance with the received at least the portion of the user profile.

Method and device for updating user devices via a cellular connection

A device obtains a data structure from a computing device, and divides the data structure into data segments. The device obtains a list of user devices from the computing device and obtains, from one or more network devices, a respective location and a respective reachability of each user device. The device determines, based on the respective location of each user device, a set of user devices connected to a base station. The device determines a communication capability of the base station, and determines, based on the communication capability, a subset of the set of user devices and one or more sets of the data segments. The device sends, based on the respective reachability of each user device of the subset of user devices, the one or more sets of data segments to the subset of user devices via the base station.
