Method and system for providing tiered access to communication network resources
Methods and systems automatically allocate cellular communication network resources to emergency response personnel during emergency situations which are detected by call volumes exceeding a predetermined maximum. Access to cellular communication network resources is provided by dedicating a portion of communication radio resources to emergency response personnel use. By reserving radio resources for emergency communication purposes, emergency personnel are able to both initiate and receive calls or data sessions from both other mobile devices as well as conventional landline telephone stations. Qualified emergency response personnel can preregistered their phones and be assigned personal identification numbers to enable access to allocated network resources. Users can also be registered “on the fly.”
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONFIGURING PROHIBIT TIMER FOR PROSE TRANSMISSION IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A method and apparatus for configuring a prohibit timer for a sidelink transmission in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) configures a prohibit timer for the sidelink transmission for a specific channel, starts the prohibit timer when a number of data units transmitted via the specific channel reaches to a specific number, and prohibits the sidelink transmission while the prohibit timer is running
DATA TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT METHOD AND APPARATUS
This application discloses a data traffic management method and apparatus. The method includes: obtaining traffic control information of a first application and a data traffic value used by the first application, where the traffic control information includes at least an upper traffic threshold; and disconnecting a data connection of the first application when the data traffic value used by the first application is greater than or equal to the upper traffic threshold included in the traffic control information of the first application. In the foregoing solution, real-time traffic management on a single application is implemented, so that a user instantly modifies traffic control information according to a requirement, to manage data traffic in real time.
EMBMS SESSION SUSPEND/STOP NOTIFICATION
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives a service through an MBMS session. The apparatus receives a first notification of an upcoming suspension of the MBMS session. The apparatus requests establishment of a unicast bearer prior to the upcoming suspension of the MBMS session upon receiving the first notification. The apparatus receives a corresponding unicast version of the service of the MBMS session via unicast when the unicast bearer is established. In an aspect, the first notification may be received during a first MCCH modification period, the corresponding unicast version of the service is received via unicast during a second MCCH modification period. In an aspect, the apparatus may further receive a second notification that the MBMS session is suspended during the second MCCH modification period.
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD AND WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE
A wireless communication method and a wireless communication device are provided. Specifically, a spectrum management device is provided, which comprises one or more processors configured to estimate a future moving trajectory of a communication device based on a location of the communication device and an environment where the communication device is located, where the communication device is an unpredictable mobile device; determine a trajectory radiation area to be interfered by the communication device as it moves along the future moving trajectory; and instruct the communication device or an interfered device in the trajectory radiation area which is subjected to co-frequency interference with the communication device to perform an operation for reducing interference.
Relay device and session control method
The relay device is configured to relay packet data between an information processing device and a mobile equipment, and the relay device includes a memory, and a processor coupled to the memory and configured to receive, from the information processing device, a session release request that requests release of a communication session set between the mobile equipment and the information processing device, and when there is not a wireless resource allocated to the mobile equipment, transmit a session release response to the session release request to the information processing device without transmitting the session release request to the mobile equipment.
On-board charging station for a remote control device
A system includes a remote control device that is useable by an operator interacting with a materials handling vehicle. The remote control device includes a wireless communication system including a wireless transmitter and a rechargeable power source. The system further comprises: a receiver at the vehicle for receiving transmissions from the wireless transmitter; a controller at the vehicle that is communicably coupled to the receiver, the controller being responsive to receipt of transmissions from the remote control device; and a charging station at the vehicle, the charging station for charging the rechargeable power source of the remote control device.

Method to address infrequent transmission
Communication systems, such as an evolved packet system, may benefit from methods for addressing infrequent transmissions. In particular, certain communication systems in which machine type communication devices are deployed may benefit from a machine type communication feature for infrequent transmission. A method for providing such a feature can include negotiating at least one characteristic of a bearer. The method can also include deactivating the bearer based on the at least one characteristic.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ESTABLISHING VOLTE CALL
A method and apparatus for establishing a Voice over LTE (Long Term Evolution) (VoLTE) call in a communication network are provided. After a request for establishing a VoLTE call is received, a user equipment (UE) involved in the VoLTE call that is in LTE coverage can be identified. One or more dummy messages are send to the identified UE after the VoLTE call enters into ringing phase. An interval between successive dummy messages is shorter than a first time period set for determining whether to release radio resource for supporting the VoLTE call in LTE coverage. Sending the dummy message can be stopped if the VoLTE call is answered or is cancelled. As a consequence, time spending on establishing a VoLTE call is shortened and good performance characteristics is achieved, and signallings on networks are reduced.
