Synchronization signal transmission method and apparatus
According to the method and the apparatus, a first device generates a first synchronization sequence and/or a second synchronization sequence, where the first synchronization sequence is different from any sequence of a third synchronization sequence set, and/or the second synchronization sequence is different from any sequence of a fourth synchronization sequence set.
Configuration of fixed tracking areas and fixed cells for a 5G satellite rat
User equipment (UE) access to a non-terrestrial network (NTN) via a satellite to a Fifth Generation (5G) public land mobile network (PLMN) is supported using fixed tracking areas (TAs) and fixed cells. The fixed TAs and fixed cells are defined in the NTN independently of NTN radio cells. Network elements in the NTN are provided with configuration information for the fixed TAs and fixed cells from a server (e.g., an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) server). The configuration information includes location related information for the fixed TAs and fixed cells, which may not be standardized. The network entities perform one or more services for the UE based on the location related information for the fixed TAs and fixed cells, such as determining a fixed TA or fixed serving cell for a UE, locating the UE, routing emergency calls, and supporting wireless emergency alerting (WEA).
Handover mechanism for non-terrestrial network (NTN) system in 5G new radio (NR)
This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication via a non-terrestrial network (NTN). In one aspect, a method for wireless communication includes initiating, by a user equipment (UE), a registration process with a network entity of an NTN to access the NTN. The method further includes transmitting, by the UE to the network entity, UE capability information of the UE. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.
TRANSMITTING RANDOM ACCESS MESSAGES USING AERIAL USER EQUIPMENT SPECIFIC PARAMETERS
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station via a system information block (SIB), a random access configuration associated with aerial UEs, wherein the random access configuration indicates one or more aerial UE specific parameters. The UE may transmit, to the base station, a random access message during a random access procedure based at least in part on the one or more aerial UE specific parameters indicated in the random access configuration associated with aerial UEs. Numerous other aspects are described.
NETWORK ACCESS MANAGEMENT
Within a satellite communications system, a base station communicates with standard compliant user equipment (UE) via a satellite having a field of view. The base station has a processor that instructs the satellite to generate a wide beam signal covering a plurality of cells in the field of view, and detects an access request from a user equipment within the plurality of cells over the wide beam signal. The base station, comprising a processing device such as an eNodeB, then generates one or more network broadcast/access signals that is uplink to a satellite and broadcasted via one or more nominal beams generated by the satellite, covering all the inactive cells, one of the plurality of cells having the access request.

Method for multibeam coverage by the grouping of elementary beams of the same colour, and telecommunications payload for implementing such a method
A method for multibeam coverage of a region of the surface of the Earth includes the generation, by a telecommunications payload embedded on a satellite, of a plurality of radiofrequency beams, called elementary beams; the formation of a plurality of radiofrequency beams, called composite beams, exhibiting footprints on the ground of different sizes, each the composite beam being obtained by the grouping of one or more elementary beams; and the transmission or the reception of data through the composite beams, identical data being transmitted or received through all the elementary beams forming one and the same composite beam.
System for the identification of a tractor platform coupled to a towed transport platform
Interested parties would like to know the identity o the semi-truck to which a semi-trailer is coupled. They would like to know when and where the semi-truck was coupled to and uncoupled from the semi-trailer. The embodiments all detect the semi-truck's identity. Some embodiments compute the identity of the semi-truck in environments where multiple semi-trucks are nearby. Some embodiments report the semi-truck's identity by wireless modem to said interested parties. Some embodiments detect and report the geolocation of the semi-trailer.

Beam configuration and parameter management for non-terrestrial networks
This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for managing beam configurations and parameters for non-terrestrial networks. In some implementations, a UE may detect a synchronization signal block (SSB) transmitted by a satellite via a first beam. Aspects of the present disclosure recognize that each beam may be identified by a unique SSB index based at least in part on a time or frequency on which the SSB is received. Thus, the SSB may be identified based on a frequency-domain SSB index or a time-domain SSB index. The UE may further determine one or more wireless communication parameters associated with the first beam. The UE may generate a mapping between the SSB and the wireless communication parameters associated with the first beam, and thereafter communicate with the satellite using the mapping.
