INTELLIGENT SWITCH SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD
20170332328 · 2017-11-16 ·

An intelligent switch system with reduced power consumption includes a wireless gateway, single live line intelligent switches, and one load per single live line intelligent switch. The wireless gateway generates wake-up signal, couples the wake-up signal to the alternating current power source network, and sends a control signal to all the intelligent switches. Each switch includes first wireless communication unit with sleep mode and wake-up mode, first wake-up unit, first controller, and switch unit. Every first wireless communication unit in wake-up mode receives the control signal. Every first wake-up unit receives and the wake-up signal to wake-up the first wireless communication unit if the control signal is tailored for that switch. The first controller analyzes the control signal and outputs a switch signal, the switch unit changes the on or off state of the load accordingly. When the switch unit is turned off, the current flowing is less than 50 uA.

Reduction of wireless communication costs in enterprises

Methods and apparatus are disclosed for reducing wireless telecommunication costs for enterprises having a plurality of PBX-equipped sites, connected by either a public network (e.g., the PSTN, the Internet, etc.), a private network (e.g., leased lines, a virtual private network [VPN] over the Internet, etc.), or some combination of public and private networks. In particular, the illustrative embodiments of the present invention attempt to reduce telecommunication costs by advantageously routing calls from an off-premises wireless terminal belonging to the enterprise via one or more of the enterprise's private branch exchanges. The present invention is especially advantageous in that it can reduce telecommunication costs for calls from an off-premises wireless terminal to any type of destination: another cell phone, a wireline terminal, a private branch exchange, etc.

Methods and apparatuses for performing cell (re)selection in non-public network

A method performed by a User Equipment (UE) for cell (re)selection includes the UE storing allowed Non-Public Network (NPN) information that is in a form of a Cell Access Group (CAG) Identity (ID) list or in a form of a Stand-alone Non-Public Network (SNPN) ID list, receiving NPN information and area information associated with the NPN information via a System Information Block (SIB) Type 1 (SIB1) broadcast by a cell, the NPN information including an NPN ID list, performing a first procedure according to the allowed NPN information when the allowed NPN information is in the form of the CAG ID list, and performing a second procedure according to the allowed NPN information when the allowed NPN information is in the form of the SNPN ID list.

Method and device for configuring a communication system

A method for configuring a communication system (20) comprising an exchange (34), the method comprising: identifying a type of the exchange; selecting a configuration module (56) adapted to communicate with the identified type of the exchange; and under the control of the selected configuration module, retrieving and analyzing automatically a configuration database from the exchange, and configuring the exchange to provide communication connectivity to both a fixed network and a mobile network.

System and method for enabling VPN-less session setup for connecting mobile data devices to an enterprise data network

A mobile application gateway configured to interconnect mobile communication devices on a cellular network with an enterprise network is provided. The mobile application gateway includes a voice and data signaling gateway configured to provide routing functionalities, service functionalities and admission control. A gateway GPRS support node (GGSN) is configured to establish a secure data session between one or more of the mobile communication devices and the enterprise network by establishing a GPRS tunneling protocol (GTP) tunnel between a carrier-hosted serving GPRS support node (SGSN) and the GGSN.

Low-power network node for a low-power, wide area (LPWA) internet of things (IoT) system

A gateway includes memory configured to store computer-readable program code; and processing circuitry configured to access the memory and execute the computer-readable program code. The gateway is connected or connectable to a low-power wide area (LPWA) network. The gateway is caused to transmit a common timing reference at a constant interval that delineates an epoch including timeslots assignable to network nodes and a free-for-all interval. The gateway is also caused to join a network node to the LPWA network based on the common timing reference and is further caused to receive a join message including a measure of received signal strength or quality of the common timing reference at the network node. The gateway is also caused to assign one or more timeslots within the epoch, a frequency, a channel, or a modulation to the network node based on the measure of received signal strength or other quality.

Method and Apparatus for Determining Wireless MNO Coverage and Efficiently Operating an Enterprise Wireless Communication Network

A transfer management system for efficiently operating an enterprise wireless communication network (EN) at a campus location enables the EN to control congestion, selectively and smoothly admit UEs, and manage UE exits from the EN. An MNO Network (MN) footprint learning system learns the different MN footprints on the campus, relative to the BS/APs deployed by the individual enterprise, which defines a footprint of wireless coverage for each MNO that has wireless coverage. The MN footprint provides useful information that enables successfully transitioning a UE between an EN and an MNO, which provides the EN with the ability to utilize other networks to offload one or more UEs to manage congestion, delay or deny admission of UEs, and proactively exit UEs to manage congestion or for other reasons.

Method for handing over a call from a first communication network to a second communication network and communication system

A method for handing over a call from a first communication network to a second communication network, comprising the steps of: registering, by a first mobile client, in particular, an IP-PBX VoIP client, running on a mobile device, the mobile device with an IP-based PBX for the first communication network, following a naming convention, by sending a registration message from the first mobile client to the IP-based PBX, the registration message comprising an endpoint ID, establishing an active conversation over the first communication network, detecting, on the mobile device, a connectivity change with respect to the first communication network, wherein the further steps of retrieving, by the first mobile client, the status of the call impacted by the connectivity change, and subsequently transferring the call to the second communication network are carried out using SIP NOTIFY messages. Further, a communication system for carrying out the method is provided.

SYSTEM, METHOD, AND APPARATUS FOR USING ALTERNATIVE NUMBERS FOR ROUTING VOICE CALLS AND SHORT MESSAGES IN A COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK
20230254757 · 2023-08-10 · ·

A system, method and computer-readable medium for allowing the use of an alternative numbering plan for delivering short messages to mobile subscribers using the public mobile telephone network is provided. Users of an enterprise or other closed networks as well as users that are not part of a closed network may send short messages destined to members of an enterprise or closed network from their mobile or other devices associated with their subscription using an alternative enterprise directory number, such as the office number, instead of the mobile number, such that the alternative number will be presented at the destination device as the originating number. The recipient may respond to the message by addressing the response to the enterprise or closed network number, and the response may be delivered to the originator’s mobile or other device associated with their subscription.
