Induction cooktops and operational methods are provided herein. A method of determining presence of compatible cookware on an induction cooktop can include receiving a request to heat the induction cooktop, controlling at least one switching device to induce a current within an assumed piece of cookware with an induction coil of the induction cooktop, sensing a voltage associated with the at least one switching device, the voltage being proportional to current flowing in the induction coil, determining that the sensed voltage includes one or more voltage spikes above a first threshold, and determining that the assumed piece of cookware is absent when the sensed voltage includes the one or more voltage spikes.

Induction heating cooker

When an inverter circuit is driven at a predetermined driving frequency, an amount of current change per predetermined period of time of an input current or a coil current is detected, and a heating period from a start of control until the amount of current change becomes a set value or less is measured. Then, the inverter circuit is controlled to reduce high frequency power to be supplied to a heating coil in accordance with a length of the measured heating period.

Induction heating device and method for controlling the same

The present disclosure relates to an induction heating device and a method for controlling the same. In accordance with the present disclosure, first, inductive sensing is periodically performed to detect a specific object with inductive heating property. Next, current sensing of the specific object having the inductive heating property is performed to again check whether the specific object has the inductive heating property. Thus, when the user simply places the loaded object on the device, the device may allow the user to quickly and intuitively confirm whether the corresponding loaded object has the inductive heating property.

Support structure for object to be heated

Disclosed is a support structure for an induction heating device that includes a working coil configured to heat an object. The support structure includes: a housing including an upper surface that is recessed do inward and that is configured to seat the object; a repeating coil that is located inside of the housing, that is configured to generate magnetic induction or magnetic resonance with the working coil, and that is configured to heat the object on the upper surface of the housing based on magnetic induction or magnetic resonance with the working coil; and a compensation capacitor located inside of the housing and connected to the repeating coil, where the compensation capacitor is configured to control output of the repeating coil.

Induction cooker having an induction coil, a supporting structure, a ferromagnetic element and a non-ferromagnetic element. The induction coil is arranged to receive a varying electric current and produce a corresponding varying electromagnetic field. The supporting structure is arranged to support a ferromagnetic object above the induction coil, the ferromagnetic object being placed in the corresponding varying electromagnetic field to be magnetically coupled to the induction coil, thereby determining a mutual inductance between the induction coil and the ferromagnetic object. The ferromagnetic element and the non-ferromagnetic element are arranged to be located between the supporting structure and the induction coil and selectively move in the corresponding varying electromagnetic field based on a mutual inductance between the induction coil and the ferromagnetic object.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A COOKING APPLIANCE, AND COOKING APPLIANCE

A method for controlling a cooking appliance using a mobile terminal that is separate from the cooking appliance, both of which have a controller and a BLE communication device, involves the following steps being performed: switching on the cooking appliance and the terminal, setting up a communication link between the two by means of a specified user process on the cooking appliance or on the terminal and confirming the set-up of the communication link by means of a user process by the user on the cooking appliance. A signal strength of the communication link between the two communication devices at the time of confirmation of the communication link on the cooking appliance is stored and is monitored during use. If the signal strength drops below a prescribed signal strength limit value, then user commands from the mobile terminal are blocked.

SYSTEM THAT EMITS LIGHT TO OVERHEATED PORTION OF COOKING CONTAINER

A method includes: obtaining temperature-related information which is related to temperatures at portions of a cooking container, using a processor; recognizing an edge of the cooking container disposed in a cooking device that cooks by heating, and identifying an overheated portion in the edge where a temperature exceeds a threshold value, based on the temperature-related information using the processor; and transmitting emission instruction information to a light emitter, and causing the light emitter to emit light to the identified overheated portion.

Kitchen appliance and cooking monitoring method

A kitchen appliance is disclosed for cooking a meat product. The kitchen appliance includes a heating element adapted to heat a medium for transferring heat to the meat product, a sensor for detecting loss of water from a contact surface of the meat product with the medium, and a controller conductively coupled to the sensor. The controller processes a sensor signal produced by the sensor, and generates a control signal indicative of the meat product reaching a defined cooking state in response to the processed sensor signal being indicative of a loss of water associated with the desired cooking state from the contact surface of the meat product.
