20170319733 · 2017-11-09 ·

A volatile composition dispenser includes a housing having opposing first and second walls that are joined along their peripheries to one another. The first wall has an aperture and the second wall has a plurality of apertures. Within the housing, rests a volatile composition cartridge and a gap, which exists between the cartridge and a bottom surface of the housing, wherein said bottom surface is formed from a joinder of a base portion of one or both of the first and second walls, and wherein, upon activation, the exposure percentage of the dispenser is from about 40% to about 90%; wherein at least about 60% of the total surface area of the plurality of apertures results from individual apertures of said plurality that each have an area of at least 30 mm.sup.2 and an aspect ratio of at least about 1:2. Dispenser of a similar housing, cartridge, and gap when is activated by a user and thirty days after said activation, exhibits about 70% to 90% weight loss of said volatile composition of a partially exposed membrane of a fully exposed membrane.

INSECT TRAP WITH COMPOUND BAIT
20210368765 · 2021-12-02 ·

Insect trap comprising a container divided into at least two internal cavities where the first cavity houses a first solid or semi-solid bait with a toxic substance and the second cavity houses a second much more volatile bait comprising an attractant and volatile substance impregnated in a holder where both baits act in a coordinated manner, since the more volatile substance disperses the attractant substance such as water vapor, causing the insects to enter the trap and easily access the first bait.

An apparatus for releasing a volatile substance into the air that includes a housing and an insert, the housing contains an at least three-layer first material; wherein a first layer of the at least three-layer first material contains or comprises paper or cardboard or paperboard, a second layer of the at least three-layer first material contains or comprises polyethylene, a third layer of the at least three-layer first material contains or comprises oriented polypropylene, the third layer has a barrier function against permeation of the volatile substance, and optionally the apparatus has at least one further barrier layer having a barrier function against permeation of the volatile substance, the insert is arranged inside the housing and made of a second material, the second material is provided or impregnated with the volatile substance.

Compositions and methods for controlling a honey bee parasitic mite infestation

The present invention relates to a formula or composition for use in reducing a honey bee parasitic mite infestation that may comprise, for example, a liquid, solid, or paste composition, comprising about 5-20% beta acids (about 5-75% by weight), about 5-75% by weight propylene glycol, about 5-75% by weight polysorbate 60, about 0.5-35% of a thixotropic material comprising, for example, fumed silica, and/or about 0.5-5% of an antioxidant comprising, for example, ascorbic acid, the composition is active against parasitic mites for more than about 14 days in the bee hives. Compositions of the present invention provide effective control, treatment, or prevention of honey bee parasitic mite infestation by inclusion of, for example, certain excipients that retard beta acid oxidation, prolong availability of active ingredient for bee uptake, improve convenience for beekeepers, or both retard beta acid oxidation and prolong the availability of active ingredient for bee uptake.

APPLICATOR FOR PESTICIDES
