INSECT CONTROL DEVICE AND METHOD FOR HOUSEHOLD OUTDOOR GARBAGE RECEPTACLES
20200128809 · 2020-04-30 · ·

An insect control device is provided for controlling insects in a household garbage receptacle used in an outdoor or semi-outdoor environment. The insect control device includes an outer housing with gas-flow apertures therein, a quantity of a gas-releasing insect poison contained within the housing, and an adhesive attaching element for securing the housing to an inner surface of a closed or lidded household garbage receptacle. Gas released by the insect poison flows out of the housing through the gas-flow apertures to permeate the air inside the enclosed garbage containment area and kill insects therein while the adhesive element keeps the device securely in place within the garbage receptacle and out of the reach of children and pets during both use and emptying of the receptacle.

BAIT STATION FOR CONTROLLING INSECTS SUCH AS YELLOW JACKETS
20200085030 · 2020-03-19 ·

A bait station for controlling insects such as yellowjackets and other wasps includes a housing that is formed from bottom vessel where insecticide-laced bait is positioned, and a top portion having apertures or holes that is sealable to the bottom vessel and allows for entry and entry of insects to be controlled. A mixing top may be further included that is applicable to the bottom vessel and enables bait to be mixed inside the bottom vessel. The ingredients of the bait are placed into the bottom vessel, and the mixing top is attached and sealed to the bottom vessel, which is then shaken to mix the ingredients to evenly spread the insecticide across the bait and throughout an interior surface of the bottom vessel. The mixing top is removed and the separate top portion is sealed to the bottom vessel, forming the bait station which is deployed to attract insects. The insects enter the bait station and either grab bait or coat their bodies with bait, enabling a transfer of effective doses of slow-acting insecticide to their nests following exit from the bait station. A method of controlling insects also enables bait to be mixed together with an insecticide without transferring the treated bait to a different container, without external devices, and in a way that does not risk spills or splashes.

DURABLE COATING-EMBEDDED PESTICIDES WITH PEEL AND STICK MOSQUITO TREATMENT OF CONTAINERS

Water-holding vessels and containers, such as flower pots, water holding dishes used under plant pots, vases, bird baths, and fountains and storm water inlets, can be coated with novel larvicide and/or adulticide coatings. Small objects can be coated with imbedded larvicide or larvicide and adulticide combination, which can be dropped in water-holding containers which can leach out pesticide over time which prevents mosquitoes from breeding in the water-holding containers. The small objects can be on the adhesive side of peel and stick type tape to form a peel and stick mosquitocidal chip (PSMC), which can be applied to the inner sides and/or bottoms of vessels/containers that can be exposed to water. A tape type roll can include an upper protective layer that protects a coating on a strip, the coating being a polymer coating having imbedded pesticide with or without silica. Under the strip can be an adhesive surface that is protected by a removable lower protective layer. Removing the lower protective layer can allow for the strip to be applied to water exposed surfaces for the treatment of mosquitoes.

An apparatus and method deliver fluid treatments to a targeted plant. The apparatus comprises a two-piece protective shell joined on one side by a spring-hinge. When the two piece outer protective shell is open, a fluid treatment is applied to a liquid retaining material within the protective shell. A portion of a targeted plant is placed within the open outer protective shell. The two piece outer protective shell is then closed, creating a sealed containment environment that is immediately protected from environmental disturbance, prevents distribution of fluid treatment to non-treated plant materials, and will retain, store, and prevent leakage of the fluid treatment. The closed outer protective shell also clasps the plant portion, forcing contact of the target plant portion with fluid treatment residing on and within the liquid retaining material. The apparatus remains attached to the targeted plant while the fluid treatment is absorbed through systemic plant processes.

A volatile composition dispenser includes a housing having opposing first and second walls that are joined along their peripheries to one another. The first wall has an aperture and the second wall has a plurality of apertures. Within the housing, rests a volatile composition cartridge and a gap, which exists between the cartridge and a bottom surface of the housing, wherein said bottom surface is formed from a joinder of a base portion of one or both of the first and second walls, and wherein, upon activation, the exposure percentage of the dispenser is from about 40% to about 90%; wherein at least about 60% of the total surface area of the plurality of apertures results from individual apertures of said plurality that each have an area of at least 30 mm.sup.2 and an aspect ratio of at least about 1:2. Dispenser of a similar housing, cartridge, and gap when is activated by a user and thirty days after said activation, exhibits about 70% to 90% weight loss of said volatile composition of a partially exposed membrane of a fully exposed membrane.

Device and method for vaporizing/discharging chemical agent

Provided is a chemical agent vaporizing/discharging device which can efficiently vaporize and discharge a chemical agent from a chemical agent retainer, and sufficiently diffuse the chemical agent, even when the device is used in a relatively large space or outdoors.
