Compositions And Methods For Attracting Insects
Disclosed are compositions for attracting insects (e.g., harmful or troublesome insects such as blood-sucking and biting insects, ticks and mites) to an object (e.g., insect trap) or area (e.g., field, orchard). Also disclosed are methods for attracting insects involving treating (or exposing) the object or area with a composition containing compounds described herein (e.g., a pro-fragrance compound selected from the group consisting of an acetal, a ketal, hemiacetal and mixtures thereof, wherein at least one of a parent aldehyde, ketone, or alcohol of the pro-fragrance acetal or ketal is a fragrance compound), and optionally a carrier or carrier material.
Ectoparasiticidal formulations and methods using combinations of insect growth regulators
A method of and a composition for treating a parasitic infestation in an animal and/or its environment is provided. The method includes providing an ectoparasitcidal formulation which comprises two or more IGRs, in which the IGRs may be selected from the same IGR class or from different IGR classes (excluding two or more juvenile hormone mimic IGRs selected from S-methoprene, hydroprene and pyriproxyfen) and regardless of whether each IGR is mobile or non-mobile or is capable or incapable of translocation in the environment.
SYNERGISTIC PRESERVATIVE COMPOSITIONS
What is described herein is a synergistic preservative composition capable of providing broad spectrum antimicrobial activity comprising: (i) about 0.1 wt. % to about 99.9 wt. % of propylene carbonate; (ii) about 0.1 wt. % to about 99.9 wt. % of one or more organic compounds, and wherein, inclusion of each additional organic compound is capable of demonstrating cumulative synergistic effect; and (iii) optionally about 0.1 wt. % to 99.0 wt. % of one or more preservative compounds, and wherein, inclusion of each preservative compound is capable of demonstrating cumulative synergistic effect, wherein the Synergy Index (SI) value of the total composition is from about 0.05 to about 0.95. Also described is a process for preparing said composition and method of use of the same.
