WIRE HARNESS
20180130572 · 2018-05-10 · ·

A wire harness includes a flat shielded cable, a first device connected to one end of the flat shielded cable, and a second device connected to the other end of the flat shielded cable. The flat shielded cable includes a plurality of conductors arranged in parallel, an insulating jacket section that covers the plurality of conductors and has an exposed conductor section which exposes a part of at least one of the conductors, and a shielding member that covers an outer periphery of the jacket section. A signal is transmitted from the first device to the second device through a conductor other than the conductor provided with the exposed conductor section. The at least one of the conductors is connected to a ground at a position between the exposed conductor section and the second device.

A cable includes two insulated electric wires, two non-circular drain wires disposed on two opposite outer sides of the two insulated electric wires, a shield conductor wound around the two insulated electric wires and the two drain wires, and a jacket jacketing the shield conductor, wherein the two drain wires and the two insulated electric wires are arranged in a line.

Lossy Drain Wire on a High Speed Cable

A dual axial cable includes first and second signal conductors, a shield, and a drain wire. The first and second signal conductors transmit a differential signal. The shield is spirally wrapped around the first and second conductors, and causes a resonant characteristic of the dual axial cable. The drain wire provides a return path for the differential signal in the dual axial cable. The drain wire is roughened to a specific amount of roughness, which reduces signal loss at resonant frequencies of the resonant characteristic caused by the shield.

PARALLEL PAIR CABLE

A parallel pair cable includes a pair of insulated wires arranged to be in contact with each other, parallel to each other and not twisted, a first resin tape wrapped around the pair of insulated wires, and a shield tape longitudinally folded on the outside of the first resin tape and comprising a metal layer.

Shield wire

A shield wire is formed of eight twisted insulated core wires 1, an inclusion 2 between these respective insulated core wires 1, a tape 3 laterally wound around an outer periphery of a core formed of the insulated core wires and inclusion, a drain wire 4 disposed on an outer surface of the tape, a conductive fiber braided body 5 formed on an outer peripheral surface of the tape so as to interpose the drain wire, a sheath 6 that forms an outer peripheral surface of the braided body, and an adhesive layer 7 between the braided body and sheath. A braided body 5 is adhesively integrated to the sheath 6 by an adhesive layer; thus, the braided body 5 is stripped with the sheath. This eliminates a need for a removal work of the braided body after stripping the sheath, thus ensuring good workability of the terminal processing.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION SYSTEM FOR SHIELDED WIRE CABLE

An electrical connection system configured to terminate electrical connectors and to transmit digital electrical signals having a data transfer rate of 5 Gigabits per second (Gb/s) or higher. The system includes a first parallel mirrored pair of terminals having a planar connection portion and a second pair of parallel mirrored terminals having a cantilever beam portion and a contact points configured to contact the first terminals. The cantilever beam portions are generally perpendicular to the planar connection portions. The terminals cooperate to provide consistent characteristic impedance. The connection system further includes an electromagnetic shield that longitudinally surrounds the terminals. The connection system is suited for terminating wire cables transmitting digital signals using data transfer protocols such as Universal Serial Bus (USB) 3.0 and High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) 1.4.

High density shielded electrical cable and other shielded cables, systems, and methods

A shielded electrical ribbon cable includes a plurality of conductor sets. Each conductor set is surrounded by a shield and includes two insulated conductors. First and second non-conductive polymeric layers are disposed on opposite sides of the cable. The polymeric layers include cover portions and pinched portions. The cover portions surround the plurality of conductor sets, and the pinched portions form pinched portions on each side of the cable. The cable includes a transition portion on each side of the cable. At least one of the polymeric layers has a radius of curvature of at least 50 microns across an entire width of the cable. For at least one of the polymeric layers, the ratio of the minimum radius of curvature in the cover portions to the minimum radius of curvature in the transition portions is from 2 to 15.

Shielded electrical cable

A shielded electrical cable includes a conductor set and two generally parallel shielding films disposed around the conductor set. The conductor set includes one or more substantially parallel longitudinal insulated conductors. The shielding films include a parallel portion wherein the shielding films are substantially parallel. The parallel portion is configured to electrically isolate the conductor set.
