Magnetic fixings and connectors
A mechanism for fixing together first and second parts and comprising first and second guides provided respectively in or attached to the first and second parts. The mechanism further comprises first and second magnetic components coupled respectively to the first and second guides such that the first magnetic component is rotatable with the first guide and the first part, and the second magnetic component cannot rotate relative to the second guide, the magnetic components being moveable axially and rotationally with respect to each other and having magnetic poles oriented such that rotation of said first magnetic component causes relative axial movement of the magnetic components between a locking position in which one of the magnetic components straddles the two guides and an unlocking position in which it does not straddle the two guides.
Rigid Magnetic Tag Line Safety Tool
A rigid magnetic tag line safety tool is an apparatus that allows a user to guide and connect to a steel plate as it is placed onto or removed from a trench. The rigid magnetic tag line safety tool includes a handle bar, an electrically insulative shaft, a universal joint, a stator, and a magnetized rotor. The handle bar allows a user to grip the apparatus. The handle bar is positioned perpendicular to the electrically insulative shaft and is mounted adjacent to the first shaft end. The electrically insulative shaft distances the user from the steel plate. The stator is pivotably mounted to the second shaft end by the universal joint such that the present invention is not hindered by the varied path of a steel plate being positioned onto or removed from a trench. The magnetized rotor is rotatably mounted to the stator and attaches to the steel plate.
Magnetic clamping device for magnetically clamping to a magnetically attracted material and having a dampening means
There is provided a magnetic clamping device (10) for magnetically clamping to a magnetically attracted material (30). The device comprises at least one permanent clamping magnet (14, 44) for magnetically clamping to the magnetically attracted material wherein the magnet is movable relative to the magnetically attracted material from a position remote from the magnetically attracted material to a clamping position for the clamping of the material by the magnet. The device also includes damping means (22, 24) for damping the movement of the clamping magnet to the clamping position. The damping means biases the clamping magnet away from the magnetically attracted material to assist release of the clamping magnet from the magnetically attracted material. In addition, the device has support means (16, 40, 58) to which the clamping magnet is mounted for the relative movement of the clamping magnet from the remote position to the clamping position and for withdrawing the clamping magnet relative to the magnetically attracted material to release the magnetically attracted material. There is also provided a method for clamping the magnetically attracted material (30) using the clamping device (10). The clamping device may, for example, be a device for securing a load to the magnetically attracted material, a lifting device, a device for holding a work piece in position, or a welding clamp.
Mounting jig for manufacturing tiling display device, and tiling display device and manufacturing method therefor
A mounting jig for manufacturing a tiling display device can include a supporting member, a plurality of jig magnets fixed to the supporting member, a hinge structure configured to rotate the plurality of jig magnets, and a guard rail configured to rotate in response to a rotation of the plurality of jig magnets, to reduce damage caused during detachment or attachment. The tiling display device includes a plurality of display devices disposed in the form of tiles. Each of the plurality of display devices includes a plurality of display elements, a plurality of circuits, a plurality of lines and a plurality of parts. The plurality of display elements can be a light emitting diode (LED) or a micro-LED including an n-type semiconductor layer, a p-type semiconductor layer, and a light emitting layer.
Variable field magnetic couplers and methods for engaging a ferromagnetic workpiece
Magnetic coupling devices are disclosed which may be configured in at least three states. The various states may be provided through one or more of altering a position of a permanent magnet relative to another permanent magnet and altering a current level in a coil surrounding a permanent magnet.
FASTENER HANDLING TOOLS AND METHODS OF HANDLING FASTENERS
A method of picking a predetermined number of fasteners is provided. The method includes placing a fastener handling tool adjacent the predetermined number of fasteners. The fastener handling tool includes a body that includes a holding side, a picking side opposite the holding side, a front wall, a rear wall opposite the front wall and opposite side walls that extend between the holding side and the picking side. The body includes an elongated slot on the picking side that extends between the opposite side walls along a width of the body and an elongated hole on the picking side that is offset from the elongated slot. The elongated slot and the elongated hole extend parallel between the opposite sidewalls providing a gap between the elongated slot and the elongated hole. A magnet is located at the elongated hole. The predetermined number of fasteners are attracted to an edge of the elongated slot using the magnet located at the elongated hole.
MAGNETIC SUBSTANCE HOLDING DEVICE
A magnetic substance holding device includes: a first pole piece assembly including a first N-pole piece, a first S-pole piece, and a first permanent magnet; a second pole piece assembly including a second N-pole piece, a second S-pole piece, and a second permanent magnet; at least one first coil; at least one second coil; and a control device controlling current applied to the first coil and the second coil so as to control magnetic fluxes passing through the first coil and the second coil, thereby allowing the first pole piece assembly and the second pole piece assembly to switch between the first arrangement and the second arrangement, to control magnetic fluxes passing through the holding faces of the first pole piece assembly and the second pole piece assembly.
INSPECTION APPARATUS AND INSPECTION SYSTEM FOR INSPECTING ACCESS-RESTRICTED SPACES AND AREAS
This relates to an inspection apparatus for inspecting a structural component to which access is restricted, comprising a movable unit including a superconductor and an inspection device, a drive unit including a magnetic field generator adapted to generate a magnetic field, wherein said movable unit and said drive unit are arranged with a predetermined gap therebetween for receiving said structural component and are coupled in a force-locking manner by means of the frozen magnetic flux, i.e., without a physical connection, between the magnetic field generator and the superconductor. Thus, spaces or areas to which access is restricted can be inspected without the need of physically connecting the drive unit and the movable unit.
