The magnetic assembly includes a magnetic core and a winding, wherein the magnetic core includes a first cover plate, a second cover plate, a plurality of winding posts and a plurality of side posts arranged around the plurality of winding posts, the number of the winding posts is at least 2, and the number of the side posts is at least 4; the first cover plate and the second cover plate of the magnetic core are respectively connected to top and bottom surfaces of the plurality of winding posts and the plurality of side posts of the magnetic core. The application can solve the problem of poor heat dissipation after integration of a plurality of magnetic elements.

An inductor for a boost converter in a hybrid vehicle includes a core, a coil winding, and an end cap. The coil winding is disposed about the core. The end cap is disposed over a first end of the inductor, overhangs the coil winding, defines a channel that is configured to receive fluid from a pump, defines at least one nozzle that is configured to direct fluid from an overhanging portion of the end cap and onto the coil, and defines a fluid reservoir that is in fluid communication with the channel and the at least one nozzle.

A transformer assembly includes a housing with a sealed housing interior, a transformer disposed within the housing interior and having a core with windings wrapped about the core, and a condenser mounted to the housing. The condenser is in fluid communication with the housing interior. A surface of the windings bounds a coolant channel extending between the windings and the condenser to convey coolant of a first phase to the condenser and receive coolant of a second phase from the condenser.

An inductive component is disclosed. In an embodiment, the inductive component includes at least one electrical conductor, a coil former with a hollow-shaped winding former, for being wound with the at least one electrical conductor, and a magnetic core, which is arranged in a cavity of the winding former. The at least one electrical conductor is surrounded by a potting material. The potting material has no directly adherent contact with the magnetic core so that the magnetic core is decoupled from the potting material.

Magnetic core structures for magnetic assemblies

A magnetic assembly includes a bobbin with two end flanges. A passageway extends longitudinally between the end flanges. An inner core extends through, and is centered in, the passageway. The inner core has first and second end surfaces, each surface proximate to one of the end flanges. A rectangular outer core is positioned around the bobbin with inner surfaces of the outer core close to the outer surfaces of the end flanges of the bobbin. A respective gap is formed between each end of the inner core and the adjacent inner surface of the outer core. The passageway includes crushable ribs that secure the inner core within the passageway. The outer surfaces of the end flanges include crushable ribs that secure the core with respect to the bobbin. The passageway and inner core may have an oval-shaped profile. The passageway and inner core may have a circular profile.

INTEGRATED ELECTRICAL COIL AND COIL STACK ASSEMBLY

An improved electrical coil unit is described which includes generally a coil member encapsulated within an iron-containing metal housing wherein the housing has an increased surface area to better transfer heat and provide air flow during operation. Each coil unit includes a coil member comprising a bobbin made of a non-conducting fiberglass impregnated resin and an insulated copper wire coiled around the outer surface of the bobbin member in multiple layers. Each coil unit is housed in an iron containing metal housing. The exterior surface of the housing preferably includes a plurality of fins extending longitudinally around the housing. A coating material is provided to encapsulate the coil member within the housing to form an integrated coil unit. The integrated coil units may be stacked to form a coil stack assembly.

High Density Magnetic Structure

A magnetic assembly formed by a custom magnetic core and its bobbin with interconnection pins is presented. This magnetic assembly leads to a higher power density of magnetic assembly and a better utilization of the volume inside a power converter, allowing a higher power density of the power converter and a higher efficiency through the minimization of the parasitic inductances.

An ignition coil for an internal combustion engine, provided with a primary coil, a secondary coil, a bobbin, a center core and a mold resin member. The primary coil and secondary coil are magnetically connected to each other. The primary coil is directly wound on the bobbin. The center core is disposed in close contact with the bobbin at an inner space thereof. The mold resin member has the primary coil, the secondary coil, the bobbin, and the center core embedded at the inner side thereof. The bobbin includes thermoplastic resin and dispersed phase particles which are dispersed in the thermoplastic resin. The dispersed phase particles being lower in elasticity than the thermoplastic resin.
