Feed through varistors with thermally-activated override
A varistor (50) comprising: a feed-through conductor (52) and a varistor disc (72) interposed between, and electrically connected to, conductor layers disposed on opposite surfaces of the varistor disc (72), the conductor layers being electrically isolated from one another; wherein the varistor disc (72) comprises a through aperture (60) through which the feed-through conductor extends; a first one of the conductor layers is electrically connected to the feed-through conductor; a second one of the conductor layers is, in normal use, permanently electrically connected to ground the varistor (50). This configuration enables one side of the disc (72) to be connected to the feed-through terminal, and the other side of the disc (72) to be connected to a ground plane, such as an earthed bulkhead of a wall or cabinet, via a metal plate forming part of the varistor (50) housing.

METHOD OF CONNECTING ELECTRIC ELEMENT
A method of connecting an electric element (20) to a switch part (10) provided with a fixed contact (11a), i.e., an example of a first contact, a first terminal (12) connected to the fixed contact (11a) and exposed out of the switch part (10), a movable contact (11b), i.e., an example of a second contact, capable of moving to a position at which the movable contact (11b) is in contact with the fixed contact (11a) and a position at which the movable contact (11b) is spaced apart from the fixed contact (11a), and a second terminal (13) connected to the movable contact (11b) and exposed out of the switch part (10) includes: connecting the electric element (20) in parallel to the fixed contact (11a) and the movable contact (11b) between the first terminal (12) and the second terminal (13).
Temperature-dependent switch
A temperature-dependent switch includes a housing with a top face and an outer face that runs transversely to the top face. The switch includes a first outer contact area that is arranged on the top face. The switch includes a second outer contact area that is arranged at the housing. The switch includes a temperature-dependent switching mechanism that is arranged in the housing and configured to establish or open an electrically conductive connection between the first and the second outer contact area depending on a temperature of the switching mechanism. The housing is disposed in a metal mounting cap that includes a wall. An upper rim of the wall protrudes beyond the top face of the housing. An inner side of the wall bears at least partially against the outer face of the housing.
Breaker and safety circuit equipped with the same
A breaker comprises: a fixed piece having a fixed contact; a movable piece having a movable contact and pressing the movable contact against the fixed contact to contact therewith; a thermally-actuated element for shifting the movable piece from a conduction state in which the movable contact contacts with the fixed contact to a turn-off state; a PCT thermistor; and a resin case. The fixed piece has a contacting portion contacting with the PCT thermistor. The resin case has a bottom surface provided with a concave portion. In a planar view when the fixed piece is viewed from the PCT thermistor, the contacting portion is disposed within the concave portion. The concave portion has a bottom recessed from the bottom surface of the resin case to prevent the bottom from protruding outwardly from the bottom surface when the thermally-actuated element is deformed.
Temperature-dependent switch
A temperature-dependent switch comprising a housing, which comprises a cover part and a lower part, wherein an insulating foil is arranged between the cover part and the lower part. The temperature-dependent switch further comprises a first external contact surface provided externally on the housing, a second external contact surface provided externally on the housing, and a temperature-dependent switching mechanism arranged in the housing. The temperature-dependent switching mechanism, depending on its temperature, establishes or opens an electrically conductive connection between the first and the second external contact surfaces. The insulating foil is at least partially coated or printed with a sealing agent which, for sealing the housing, contacts the cover part and/or the lower part in a sealing area.
Ignition interrupter and related methods
Implementations of a system for interrupting ignition may include a first spark plug terminal coupled with a first internal contact, the first internal contact extending into a housing; a second spark plug terminal coupled with a second internal contact, the second internal contact extending into the housing; a contactor biased against the first internal contact and the second internal contact; a plunger coupled with a solenoid coupled within the housing; a battery coupled with the solenoid; and a temperature sensor coupled with the battery and the solenoid.

TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENT SWITCH
A temperature-dependent switch with a housing, which comprises a cover part having an upper side and a lower part having a raised peripheral wall, the upper section of which is bent onto the upper side of the cover part and thereby holds the cover part on the lower part, wherein two contact surfaces are provided outside at the housing and a switching mechanism is arranged in the housing, wherein the switching mechanism is configured to switch, depending on its temperature, between a closed state, in which the switching mechanism establishes an electrically conductive connection between the two contact surfaces, and an open state, in which the switching mechanism interrupts the electrically conductive connection between the two contact surfaces. A sealing ring is arranged on the upper side of the cover part, which sealing ring is in sealing contact with the bent upper section of the wall.
