DISCHARGE LAMP DRIVE DEVICE, LIGHT SOURCE DEVICE, PROJECTOR, AND DISCHARGE LAMP DRIVE METHOD
A discharge lamp drive device includes a discharge lamp driver configured to supply drive electric current to a discharge lamp having a first electrode and a second electrode, a control unit configured to control the discharge lamp driver, and a storage unit configured to store a plurality of drive patterns of the drive electric current. The control unit is configured to select one drive pattern from among the plurality of drive patterns based on machine learning, and implement the selected drive pattern. The control unit performs a first control that increases a drive electric power supplied to the discharge lamp according to an increase in an inter-electrode voltage of the discharge lamp, in a case where the inter-electrode voltage is equal to or larger than a first voltage value and the inter-electrode voltage is equal to or lower than a second voltage value higher than the first voltage value.
Sulfur plasma lamp
A sulfur plasma lamp has a lamp envelope of transparent or translucent glass or ceramic material. At least two silicon carbide electrodes are hermetically sealed with the lamp envelope and in contact with an interior of the lamp envelope. A quantity of sulfur within the interior of the lamp envelope is sufficient to create a sulfur plasma upon excitation. A buffer gas within the interior of the lamp envelope enables initial discharge and heating of the interior of the lamp envelope to excite the sulfur into a plasma state. More than two electrodes may be provided, and an electrical potential is created between different pairs of the electrodes at different times, thereby inducing stirring of the plasma upon excitation of the material into a plasma state.
High-pressure discharge lamp having an ignition aid
The invention relates to a high-pressure discharge lamp having an ignition aid and comprising a discharge vessel, which is accommodated in an outer bulb. The ignition aid is a UV enhancer having a can-like container (12), which has an inner electrode (18). At least part of the end-face edge of the inner electrode at least comes close to the end face (24) of the container (12). An external electrode is attached to the outside of the container.

Discharge lamp that includes a luminous tube and a pair of electrodes and a manufacturing method for discharge lamp and projector
A discharge lamp includes a luminous tube and a pair of electrodes. At least one of the pair of electrodes includes a core material, a coil section in which a metal wire is wound on the core material in three or more layers, a distal end portion made of a conductor and provided, with respect to the coil section, at an end portion of the core material on a side where the other electrode is disposed, and a rear end portion made of a conductor and provided on the opposite side of the distal end portion with respect to the coil section. The rear end portion includes a first diameter section having a first diameter and a second diameter section having a second diameter smaller than the first diameter and present in a position farther from the coil section than the first diameter section.
High-pressure sodium lamp lighting device
The present technology provides a high-pressure sodium lamp lighting device that reduces occurrence of the acoustic resonance phenomenon. A high-pressure sodium lamp lighting device of one aspect of the present invention comprises a high-pressure sodium lamp of arc length AL within the scope of 142.8 mmAL167 mm. The lighting device also includes an electronic ballast configured to supply a high frequency AC voltage to the high-pressure sodium lamp. A lighting frequency of the electronic ballast is a frequency that avoids a first and a second acoustic resonance occurrence bands f1 kHz and f2 kHz determined based on equations from an arc tube inner diameter D mm of the high-pressure sodium lamp. The equation for f1 is a range of f1min to f1max=(7.4D+130) to (8.3D+156). The equation for f2 is a range of f2 min to f2max=(11.5D+200) to (10.0D+197).
