TECHNIQUES FOR PROCESSING DEVICES
Representative techniques provide process steps for forming a microelectronic assembly, including preparing microelectronic components such as dies, wafers, substrates, and the like, for bonding. One or more surfaces of the microelectronic components are formed and prepared as bonding surfaces. The microelectronic components are stacked and bonded without adhesive at the prepared bonding surfaces.

The curved light-emitting substrate includes a substrate; an array layer, disposed on a side of the substrate; a plurality of light-emitting elements, electrically connected to the array layer, where a light-emitting element of the plurality of light-emitting elements includes a light-emitting main body and a first soldering pad on a side of the light-emitting main body facing the array layer; a second soldering pad which is on a side of the array layer facing the light-emitting element and electrically connected to the first soldering pad; and a flexible padding layer, between the light-emitting main body and the array layer along a first direction, where the first direction is perpendicular to a surface of the array layer.
Through Wafer Trench Isolation and Capacitive Coupling
In described examples of an integrated circuit (IC) there is a substrate of semiconductor material having a first region with a first transistor formed therein and a second region with a second transistor formed therein. An isolation trench extends through the substrate and separates the first region of the substrate from the second region of the substrate. An interconnect region having layers of dielectric is disposed on a top surface of the substrate. A dielectric polymer is disposed in the isolation trench and in a layer over the backside surface of the substrate. An edge of the polymer layer is separated from the perimeter edge of the substrate by a space.

Bonded semiconductor devices and methods of forming the same
A method includes patterning a cavity through a first passivation layer of a first package component, the first package component comprising a first semiconductor substrate and bonding the first package component to a second package component. The second package component comprises a second semiconductor substrate and a second passivation layer. Bonding the first package component to the second package component comprises directly bonding the first passivation layer to the second passivation layer; and reflowing a solder region of a conductive connector disposed in the cavity to electrically connect the first package component to the second package component.

Method of forming a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) capacitor
A method of forming a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) capacitor with copper top and bottom plates may begin with a copper interconnect layer (e.g., Cu MTOP) including a copper structure defining the capacitor bottom plate. A passivation region is formed over the bottom plate, and a wide top plate opening is etched in the passivation region, to expose the bottom plate. A dielectric layer is deposited into the top plate opening and onto the exposed bottom plate. Narrow via opening(s) are then etched in the passivation region. The wide top plate opening and narrow via opening(s) are concurrently filled with copper to define a copper top plate and copper via(s) in contact with the bottom plate. A first aluminum bond pad is formed on the copper top plate, and a second aluminum bond pad is formed in contact with the copper via(s) to provide a conductive coupling to the bottom plate.
