The present disclosure relates to a component for a delivery system. The component comprises a sheet material that is arranged into a body of material and at least one additive capsule incorporated with the body such that, in use, the additive capsule is breakable upon the application of a force to the body by a user. The present disclosure also relates to a method and apparatus for manufacturing a component for a delivery system.

The present disclosure concerns a device for forming a multi-flavor composite structure filter rod in one step, including the following components: a tow transmission belt, a tow guiding horn-shaped mouth, a tow assembly paper collection groove, a cigarette lap adhesive applying device and multi-flavor adding devices. According to shapes and types of flavors, the multi-flavor adding devices are arranged in different sections to obtain one-step formation of the multi-flavor composite structure filter rods. The present disclosure also discloses a one-step method of forming the multi-flavor composite structure filter rod using the one-step forming device.

A filling unit, configured to fill a succession of tubular wrappers of the tobacco industry. The tubular wrappers extend along a main axis of extension and internally define respective containment chambers adapted to contain a filling material of the tobacco industry and have an access opening on at least one of its ends for access to the containment chamber. The unit also includes a filling station configured to insert the filling material into respective containment chambers of the succession of tubular wrappers through a filling end of them and a closing station disposed downstream of the filling station and comprising a plurality of closing means configured to make respective walls which close the filling ends and which are transverse to the respective main axes of extension.

A system and method for manufacturing a filter includes a filamentary material delivery apparatus, a support structure for supporting a continuous stream of filamentary material, and a particle distribution apparatus. The particle distribution apparatus includes an apertured distribution belt positioned above the support structure and in communication with an outlet of a particle storing hopper. The belt defines a plurality of spaced openings through which particles are distributed onto the continuous stream of filamentary material to form a particle-bearing stream of filamentary material.

Machine and method for producing substantially cylindrical articles of the tobacco processing industry; a material with cavities is fed, along a given path, through an insertion station, where powder material is inserted into the cavities, so as to obtain a strand, and through a wrapping station, in the area of which a strip is wrapped around the strand; the powder material is inserted into each cavity by a relative insertion unit, which moves in a synchronous manner along a coupling portion of the given path.

A flavouring component for a smoking article comprising a rod of flavouring material. The flavouring material comprises a carrier material and flavouring particles adhered to to the carrier material by means of a binder. The flavouring material is formed by passing the carrier material through a mixture comprising the binder and the flavouring particles. Also disclosed is a smoking article including such a flavouring component, and an apparatus and method for manufacturing such a flavouring component.

A flavouring component (43) for a smoking article (50) comprising a rod (33) of flavouring material (17). The flavouring material (17) comprises a carrier material (15) and flavouring particles (14) adhered to the carrier material (15) by means of a binder (13). The flavouring material (17) is formed by passing the carrier material (15) through a mixture (12) comprising the binder (13) and the flavouring particles (14). Also disclosed is a smoking article (50) including such a flavouring component (43), and an apparatus (10) and method for manufacturing such a flavouring component (43).

The invention relates to a smoking article having a cylindrical shape with a longitudinal axis running through respective base areas of a distal end and a mouth end of the smoking article. The smoking article segments are at least in part wrapped in a circumferential wrapper and arranged subsequently in from the distal to the mouth end as follows: a. a tobacco segment comprising tobacco or tobacco derived smokable material, b. a cooling segment having a first flow path from the tobacco segment to a filter segment, c. the filter segment comprising a second flow path from the cooling segment to the mouth end.

The filter segment comprises a tobacco product including tobacco particles having an average particle size of 30 m and a dispersion medium for dispersing the tobacco particles. The invention also comprises a method for manufacturing such a smoking article.

A method for making a sub-unit of a smoking article, specifically an HNB smoking article, includes preparing a rod segment, of the tobacco industry and wrapping a connecting strip of wrapping material round that rod segment, about a wrapping axis, in such a way that a first portion of the connecting strip is superposed on a first end of the rod segment and a second portion of it is axially protruding from the first end of the rod segment thereby defining a tubular wrapping which encloses a containment chamber. Then a filling material of the tobacco industry is placed inside the containment chamber. The method also includes a step of making a wall, transverse to the wrapping axis, defining an at least partial closure of the containment chamber, specifically by folding an end portion of the second portion the connecting strip.

This filter for a tobacco product has: a fine-powder-containing article in which there is clumped a raw powder including a taste component and/or an aroma component, the fine-powder-containing article being formed into a powder by the application of force; a cavity in which the fine-powder-containing article is disposed; and a suction port filter part installed downstream of the cavity, the suction port filter part enabling communication between the cavity and an end of a suction port and having formed along the axial direction thereof a fine powder supply path for supplying fine powder from the cavity to the end of the suction port. The fine powder supply path includes a central connection part positioned at the center of a cross-section of the suction port filter part, and a plurality of hole parts extending in mutually different directions from the central connection part toward the outer periphery of the cross-section.
