SHOULDER PADS
Protective athletic shoulder pads for a wearer, such as a hockey or lacrosse player. The shoulder pads may comprise a base with protective padding for protecting shoulders of the wearer, a rib protector for protecting ribs of the wearer, and an attachment mechanism configured to allow the rib protector to be removably connected to the base. Alternatively or additionally, the attachment mechanism may allow attachment of the rib protector to the base in one of a plurality of pre-determined positions. A protective athletic system comprising the shoulder pads and an undergarment is also provided.
Apparel with Selectively Attachable and Detachable Elements
An article of apparel has a surface with a first part of a fastening system, and an attachment element has an outer area with a second part of the fastening system. The first part of the fastening system is joinable to the second part of the fastening system to attach the attachment element to the apparel. The first part of the fastening system is also separable from the second part of the fastening system to separate the attachment element from the apparel. The attachment element may be formed from a polymer foam material, may include a fluid-filled chamber, or may incorporate an electronic device, for example. In some configurations, the attachment element is secured to an exterior of the apparel. In other configurations, the attachment element is secured between two layers of the apparel.
Apparel incorporating a protective element
Protective components may include a plate element and a cushioning element that are secured together with a hook-and-loop fastening system. The cushioning element may include a pair of material layers and a pad or a plurality of pad components located between the material layers. The plate element may include a polymer material and the pad may include a polymer foam material.
Load Distribution Garment
A load distribution garment for use under a ballistic vest includes a shirt to be worn under the vest. The shirt has interface grips on its outside to engage the inside of the vest and help to transfer vertical load of the vest to the shirt. The shirt has tightenable straps that help to keep the shirt snub on the user's torso. As a result, some load of the vest is transferred to the user's torso, including the core, rather than being carried solely on the shoulders and collarbone area.
INTEGRATED BACK SUPPORT AND KNEE PROTECTION APRON
An integrated back support and knee protection apron configurable for individual users and multiple applications is described. The integrated knee support and knee protection apron combines external support of the lumbar spine giving some measure of protection against back injury from bending, stooping, and lifting with a knee protector system which allows for use of interchangeable knee pads to suit any variety of applications. These features are all contained within a single, unitary garment which is adjustable to fit users of varying sizes by way of separate adjustment systems for the back support elements and the knee protector elements of the device. Additional elements of the device include interchangeable knee pads, interchangeable thigh pads, and a three-tiered adjustment system for a back support belt component of the device.
Waterproof protector for a body member
A waterproof protector for a body member and a method for fabricating the waterproof protector. The waterproof protector comprises a body comprising a fabric layer comprising polyester; a water repellent applied to a first surface of the fabric layer; an antimicrobial substance applied to an opposite surface of the fabric layer and located on an inner surface of the body. The body comprises a main seam formed by a junction of the fabric layer, the junction being sewn by an ultrasound to form a main seam which is further sealed with an additional layer of a waterproof material positioned on the inner surface of the body and sealed to the inner surface by heat. The waterproof protector further comprises a stretchable strap attached to an end of the body and having several hook-and-loop fastener portions for leakless securing of the protector to the body member.
Hockey Shirt with Neck and Wrist Guards
A hockey shirt with neck and wrist guards having reinforced, slash-resistant neck and wrist portions to protect a hockey player from being cut from a blade of an ice hockey skate on their neck or wrist. The hockey shirt includes a garment body having a pair of sleeves, an upper head opening, and a lower torso opening. The upper head opening further comprises a first reinforcement guard about a perimeter of the upper head opening. The first reinforcement guard is integral with the garment body and provides increased cut resistance. A distal end of each sleeve of the pair of sleeves includes a second reinforcement guard about a circumference of each distal end of each of the pair of sleeves. The reinforcement guards are integral with the garment body and provide increased cut resistance. Each of the reinforcement guards are made of para-aramid (p-aramid) fibers or KEVLAR.
PERSONAL PROTECTION GUARD
A personal protection guard having a guard portion and mounting portion. The guard portion has a hard shell and resilient inner. pad. The inner pad includes, a padding layer and an exterior facing fastening layer having a mass of fastening loops. The mounting strip has an adhesive strip layer and an engaging member having a hook layer that cooperates with the mass of fastening loops for attaching the guard portion to the mounting portion. The adhesive strip layer includes a removable release layer that when removed exposes the adhesive substance upon the adhesiver strip layer, for attaching the mounting strip to a portion of a person use of the personal protection guard. The guard portion may also include elastic mounting straps coupled to the opposite side of the shell.
Protective sleeve for a medical device
Protective sleeve for a medical device having a moveable joint including a tubular assembly comprising a flexible material that satisfies International Organization for Standardization ISO13997 (1999) for a cut resistance of at least ISO level 5. The tubular assembly has a first end portion, a second end portion, and a length extending therebetween. The tubular assembly includes a base member made of the flexible material having an internal surface and an external surface and a reinforcing member made of the flexible material coupled to the base member along the internal surface and the external surface of the base member. The reinforcing member forms a channel at the first end portion. The tubular assembly has an internal cross dimension sized to receive a medical device having a moveable joint therein. The protective sleeve further includes an adjustment member received in the channel to radially adjust the first end portion.
PROTECTIVE UNDERGARMENT FOR USE BY A HOCKEY PLAYER OR HOCKEY GOALTENDER
A protective undergarment comprising a waist portion comprising an elastic material and being dimensioned to be snugly worn about a waist of a body and of a wearer, a pair of leg portions comprising an elastic material and extending from the waist portion, each leg portion dimensioned to encircle a leg of the wearer's body and comprising an ankle portion comprising a cut-resistant material, and impact absorbing pads connected to a back side of each of said leg portions configured to protect a back of the wearer's legs, the impact absorbing pads comprising a lower pad to protect a calf portion of the wearer's legs.
