20190274380 · 2019-09-12 ·

Described is a wearable palm protecting band that encircles the hand to provide protection and grip to the palmer aspect of the hand. The band allows a user to quickly position the band into a use-position to provide protection and grip during physical activity and then just as quickly position the band back into a non-use-position such as over the wrist. In some embodiments, the band may also double as a sweat absorber (e.g. similar to wrist band) when in the non-use-position. The materials used in the band may not be uniform and different parts of the band may have specific materials for providing grip/protection and sweat absorption.

HAND PROTECTOR

A hand protector is disclosed that comprises flexible planar base in the general shape of an oversized palm of a person's hand. Five spaced apertures are provided towards edges of the planar base in positions that correspond to five fingers of the hand, the apertures sized to permit the fingers of the hand to be inserted therethrough to support the planar base against a palm of the hand. One or more of the apertures have cover flaps, each cover flap movable between a first position in which it generally extends in a plane of the base, and a second position in which it extends away from the plane of the base and abuts a base of the finger when a finger is inserted through the aperture.

A gripping apparatus is provided to reduce friction and skin impingements on a user's hand and prevent friction and skin impingement related injuries. The gripping apparatus comprises a strap and a cushion configured to define a wearable band that provides a barrier between a user's skin and an object being gripped. A ridge is disposed on an inside of the cushion to provide a barrier between folds of skin on the user's palm, thus further reducing the friction and impingements caused by the skin rubbing against itself. At least one groove defines an edge of the cushion, which is configured to prevent the edge of the cushion from digging into a user's hand when gripping an object. The band comprises elastic material, which allows the band to be worn in multiple configurations and flex to fit the unique shape of each individual user.
