APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR REFINING GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION BASED ON DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF HELMET
An apparatus and a method for refining a geographical location based on dynamic characteristics of a helmet are disclosed. A piece of angular velocity information is sensed through a gyroscope and then compared with a piece of basic angular velocity information to generate a piece of dynamic information of the helmet body. The piece of dynamic information, the piece of location information, and the piece of magnetic flux information are marked on an electronic map to generate a piece of refined geographical location information which is then sent to an output unit to be outputted. Thus, a higher resolution of the current geographical location is obtained.
Head-mounted physiological signal monitoring system, devices and methods
Hat, helmet, and other headgear apparatus includes dry electrophysiological electrodes and, optionally, other physiological and/or environmental sensors to measure signals such as ECG from the head of a subject. Methods of use of such apparatus to provide fitness, health, or other measured or derived, estimated, or predicted metrics are also disclosed.
Electronic motorcycle helmet
An electronic motorcycle helmet. The electronic motorcycle helmet includes a helmet having an aperture therein that can receive a head therethrough. A visor is disposed on a front side of the helmet and a display is disposed on an interior surface of the visor. A microprocessor, including a logic that receives a command input directed to one of a plurality of subsystems, toggles the subsystem between an activated state and a deactivated state, and displays a status window on the display corresponding to the subsystem. The plurality of subsystems includes a plurality of cameras disposed about the helmet, wherein each of the cameras is operably connected to the display and can apply a low-light filter for low-light conditions. Other subsystems include a wireless transmitter to wirelessly communicate with an external device, a GPS system, and a battery disposed at a lower edge of the rear side.
Photoluminescent identifier system for firefighting equipment
The present system provides a lightweight fire-resistant photoluminescent identifier system for firefighters, which is suitable for use on the firefighter's facemask, as well as other equipment. The system is lightweight and provides individual recognition of an individual firefighter. The identifier system lights up automatically in a low-light environment without batteries, yet prevents glare to the firefighter using the system. The components that comprise the system are fire-resistant to temperatures up to and exceeding 500 degrees Fahrenheit to facilitate personal recognition of the individual in dark and low-light areas.
Helmet and a method for dealing with an accident using the helmet
The present invention relates to a helmet and a method for dealing with an accident using the helmet, which the helmet includes: a helmet body part made of a resin having a semi-spherical space for receiving the head of a wearer; a light part arranged in the front of the helmet body part having LEDs mounted on a substrate to provide the wearer with lighting; a metallic heat radiator extending from the front of the helmet body part to the back thereof along the upper central line of the helmet body part and partially contacting the back of the substrate to discharge heat; a communication device part received in the helmet body part for dealing with communication and emergency circumstances; and a battery received in the helmet body part for supplying power to the communication part and light part. According to the present invention, the metallic heat radiator is integrated with the resinous helmet body part by injection molding of different materials, so that the heat generated from the LEDs of the light part is discharged upwards from the top of the helmet, thus preventing the wearer from being subjected to the discomfort caused by the heat generated from the LEDs.
CONSPICUITY DEVICES
The disclosure provides conspicuity devices and methods. A first embodiment includes a glove with at least one elongate lighting device adapted and configured to admit light having an advantageous spectral energy distribution. Additional articles of clothing are provided herein for enhanced conspicuity, such as for emergency workers and athletes.
Helmet to reduce traumatic brain injuries
A protective helmet includes a plurality of fluid filled bladders, impact sensors, valves, and pumps wherein the helmet absorbs energy from an impact to protect a person wearing the helmet from traumatic brain injury. The bladders expel fluid in response to a triggering event such as energy from an impact detected as a pressure spike event and/or detected as an acceleration event. A selected bladder may expel fluid to other bladders, to a reservoir, to the environment outside of the protective helmet, or combinations thereof. In embodiments where the bladders need additional fluid after an impact, one or more pumps may refill selected deflated bladders. When a bladder is underinflated, an indicator light may emit light on an outer surface of the protective helmet to warn that the bladder is not yet ready to be placed in operation to absorb another impact.
CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY FOR A HELMET
A helmet has a helmet shell, a visor connected to the helmet shell, an electrical device attached to at least one of the helmet shell and the visor, and an electrical connector assembly. The electrical connector assembly has a flexible member having a first end magnetically connected to the helmet shell, which is electrically connected to the electrical device. The electrical connector assembly also has a connector connected to a second end of the flexible cord that is electrically connected to the electrical device via the flexible cord. The connector is adapted to connect to a power source.
Protective headgear including a personnel electronic monitor device
Protective headgear for use in dangerous and/or hazardous locations may comprise: a headgear shell; a locator device on the headgear shell for providing location data; a motion sensor on the headgear shell for providing motion data; a memory on the headgear shell and having a unique identifier stored therein and configured to store the location data and the motion data; a transmitter-receiver for transmitting the location data, the motion data and the unique identifier to a remote database and for receiving notification data therefrom; and a user interface responsive to the received notification data to provide a visual notification or an audible notification or a physical notification or a combination thereof.
