Retrofit sensor module for a protective head top

The present disclosure includes a retrofit sensor module for use with a protective head top with a helmet and a visor. The sensor module includes a sensor housing and an attachment mechanism. The sensor housing encloses a head presence sensor to sense when the protective head top is being worn. The sensor housing also encloses a position sensor to sense the position of the visor relative to the helmet. The retrofit sensor module further comprises an attachment mechanism secured to the housing. The attachment mechanism mates with a first hinge component of a hinge assembly in the protective head top to removably install the sensor module into the protective head top, wherein the hinge assembly allows the visor to move relative to the helmet.

Novel and advantageous masks and helmets to protect an athlete's head and face from impacts and injuries. In particular, the present disclosure relates to novel and advantageous masks and helmets to help protect a baseball or softball catcher's face and head from concussive forces of an incoming ball strike. A mask of the present disclosure may be coupled to a helmet, or may be configured for use without a helmet in some embodiments. The mask may provide a generally cone-shaped structure in front of a wearer's face, so as to provide an angled surface for contact with an incoming ball. Additionally, a shock absorbing material may be provided at an interface between the helmet and mask to reduce and distribute force transfer between the mask and the helmet.

A face shield for use with protective headgear can be shipped flat and easily assembled from a kit of parts without the use of tools or adhesives. The face shield protects against disease, aerosols and splatter that may contain pathogens; may include a curved lower perimeter to facilitate head movements, and can be taken on and off easily.

Respirator device with light exposure detection

A system including a head-mounted device having a face shield; a respirator coupled to or embodied in the head mounted device; a light having a light intensity; a light detector, and a computing device communicatively coupled to the at least one light detector that receive from the light detector data indicting a type and intensity of light, and determine that the light matches a particular type of light and whether it exceeds a threshold, and on the basis of this determination, modifies the intensity of the light.

PROTECTIVE VISOR FOR A FOREST HELMET
20170303626 · 2017-10-26 ·

In this publication is described a traditional forest helmet visor (1), plus in accordance with the invention a lightweight and ventilated plastic frame-body (3) that is connected to downparts of the visor (1) and a fabric-curtain (2) fastened into the inner circle of the framebody (3). The true function of the framebody (3) is to position a lightweight and elastic fabric-curtain (2) to an optimal location near the upper part of neck. For setting work mode the backsides of the framebody (3) can be connected either to the hearing protector structure or those can be connected together by express hooks being in each other's endparts. With these solutions the fabric-curtain (2) can be positioned as aimed broadly round the circle of the upper neck. As a result the fabric-curtain (2) is properly interlaced and efficiently supplyes protection for the bare nec and face areas together with the current workwear. Due to the protection a general mobility in brushwoods is getting simpler and that equally enables a rise in working performance. The improved mobility is quite an advantage specially in clearingsaw-work, because it as a workform requires more motion just among branches. In addition the hearing protectors can be equipped with quite a familiar fabric-curtains and hangers as well. In the combimodell the backsides of the framebody (3) can be sized significantly shorter (21) accordingly and there is no purpose for any fastening elements for work mode.

FACE SHIELD FOR RIGID PROTECTIVE HEADWEAR

A thermoformed protective face shield includes a curved top portion adapted to conform to a curved lower portion of a rigid protective headwear. The face shield further includes a visor portion extending outward from a lower end of the curved top portion, thereby creating a space between the user's face and a face cover portion. The visor portion includes one or more channels formed therein for structural support and/or allowing release of heat and/or moisture from the face cover portion. The face cover portion extends downward from the visor portion and covers and provides protection for the face of a user. A side shield portion extends inwardly from the face cover portion. For shielding the sides of a user's face. Further, a perimeter flange may extend perpendicular to the perimeter of the face shield for providing structural support to the face shield.

Remote interface for digital configuration and security of safety equipment

In some examples, a system includes: a plurality of different articles of personal protection equipment (PPE) that are all controlled by a particular user, and a computing device. The computing device may include one or more computer processors configured to receive sets of data from each of the different articles of PPE, wherein each set of data is based at least in part on a type of each of the different articles of PPE; generate for display a user interface that contemporaneously includes a plurality of graphical elements that are based at least in part on at least two sets of data that correspond to at least two different articles of PPE of the plurality of different articles of PPE; and in response to receiving an indication of user input that corresponds to at least one of the plurality of graphical elements, perform at least one operation.

Helmet Mounted Visor

A helmet mounted visor includes a lens that may be configured to extend across substantially all of a user's face. The helmet mounted visor may include a pair of mount arms coupled to the lens and each configured to releaseably mount to a mount attached to a helmet. The pair of mount arms may each including first, second and third portions. The first portion may be rotatably coupled to the second portion about a first axis. The first portion may be rotatably coupled to the third portion about a second axis. The second axis may be generally perpendicular to the first axis. A locking mechanism may be provided and configured to selectively retain the first portion relative to the second portion in and between a use position where the lens is positioned in front of the user's face and a stowage position where the lens is positioned proximate the top of the helmet.
